Kudos to President Obama for giving his wife a birthday present we all can envy, indeed covet. CBS News reports:
President Barack Obama is going to give his wife the birthday present that many parents can only dream of - time off, alone, without the children.
The White House said on Saturday first lady Michelle Obama would stay in Hawaii, where the family has been on vacation for the last two weeks, rather than return home with her husband and their two girls.
"As part of her birthday gift from the president, the first lady will remain in Hawaii to spend time with friends ahead of her upcoming 50th birthday," a White House official said.
Just imagine for a moment if President Obama would agree to leave the rest of us alone. How wonderful would that be? He does have it within his power to make the gift to Americans permanent, too. Rumor has it that either his presidential library or presidential foundation will be set-up in Honolulu, so an early retirement to the balmy shores of Oahu would be a great gift to Americans, indeed to all humanity. How about it, Barack? Maybe on our birthday, the Fourth of July, you could bestow this gift.
However, it is hard to read this story without wondering if there is a wee bit of trouble between Mr. and Mrs. Obama. In its December 30, 2013 issue, the National Enquirer featured a cover story entitled, "Obama Marriage Explodes!"

I don’t know what the real story is, but I’m sure “birthday present” is not it.
Most decent parents would not choose to spend an extended period of time away from their young children. Movie night? Sure. A weekend? Possibly. But this sounds like 2 weeks.
A cover-up for reggie love and the wookie’s SS boyfriend and their future divorce.
Unless you’ve actually done it, you simply cannot imagine how exhausting & stressful it is to be closely connected to a Malignant Narcissist. There may be more to this story than has been reported [most likely, there is], but regardless, I can only imagine Michelle’s relief at being apart from the guy a while. It really is the best possible present. Jmo.
So, the birthday girl gets to stay in Hawaii and return to DC all at the expense of the American tax payers. She should write us each a thank you note.

i think it is. Typical welfare mentality. We now have to pay for their separation too. This is an expensive middle finger in her face. He cannot give it like a man, though, he has to appease her by paying her with our tax money.
