State Senate Majoriy Leader Martin M. Looney said he would have preferred to receive a different type of magazine for a Christmas present.
I wish he had sent me a New Yorker, the New Republic or the Atlantic, Looney said when told he was the recipient of a high-capacity gun magazine.
Specifically, both Looney, D-New Haven, and state Sen. John McKinney, R-Fairfield, each were sent one 28-round standard capacity AR-15 magazine, manufactured by C Products Defense Inc. of Bradenton, Fla.
It was part of Alabama gun activist Mike Vanderboeghs Toys for Totalitarians campaign, in which he is sending banned high-capacity magazines to some legislators after he finished sending various examples of magazines to the governors of Colorado, Maryland, New York and, as of Monday, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.
Looney said he was informed by Capitol Police Sgt. Timothy Boyle of the present late Monday.
The majority leader said he didnt accept it and a spokesman for the police said the three empty magazines have been turned over to the Connecticut State Police major crime squad.
Looney said some people think the entire Constitution resides in the Second Amendment, rather than understanding the totality of the document.

what a dorky response
he is just like pajama boy
Toys for Totalitarians- awesome ! My wife and I are still laughing.
They will promptly turn them over to their jack-booted thugs.
hugh and series
This could be a fun legal battle to watch. Nationally these mags are legal and also from the state they were mailed from. Bloomie would try to file charges.
This a-hole's name sure suits him! Someone ought to tell him the facts about the Second Amendment: Without it, the rest of the Constitution is absolutely meaningless.
The Second Amendment is what separates the United States of America from the despot dictatorships of the world.
Some say that mags filled to capacity...30 rounds...don’t reliably seat with a closed bolt.
Never had an issue, but I rarely load a mag to capacity.
Apparently, big time.
I guess some folks had trouble with tactical reloads. Anymore, I don’t trust the feed lips on aluminum mags to hold up if I have to slam ‘em home.
That's rich, this Jerk ignores the 'Totality of the Document." According to this Ahole, the "Living and breathing" Constitution has a dying part called the 2nd Amendment.
His choice of mags labels him as the intellectual no-weight that his state deserves.
Hey gov, go read some more pseudo-science about guns...and take In couple of tech-not tomes on climate change while you’re at it.
What a maroon.
The east coast is doomed anyway. Either progressives, the muzzies, or the upcoming ice age should take care of them.
Got some. Bought some Israeli composite, too.
Pricey, but good stuff.
Totality? As in Art 6 para 2? “Laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding...”
CDNN had the Israeli ones during the last “shortage.” They weren’t in the catalog, so weren’t too expensive.
