The irony level has now gone to 11. Not only is a "climate change" researcher and fellow travellors stuck in ice in the summer, but they had to reach out to the climate heretics to get accurate weather data. (Also means they didn't have accurate weather data all along, this was a faith based voyage)

Note the green circle marker, which is the approximate location the Akademik Shokalskiy is at.I'm not finding the green circle marker?

I also pointed out that the Australian scientists on-board were climatologists, and not operational weather forecasters, and finding this sort of weather data probably wasnt in their skill set. Pretty much says it all.

Vince, Thank you for the post. I remember when John Coleman was the “weatherman” for WBKB TV, channel 7 in Chicago back in the 60s and 70s.
And it is nice to know that the ‘globull warming folks’ have to call a real meteorologist to find out about the weather. It shows that, bottom line, they don’t have ‘faith’ in their globull warming religion.

Wind piling up sea ice would seem to be a no brainer. The “leaders” of the expedition may be that stupid as to overlook it in their rush to go “prove” their equally short-sighted ideas... But what about the master of the vessel? Was he/she not experienced in navigating these waters? I realize wind and weather are unpredictable, but this seems like the let themselves get into a bad situation.

I can’t figure out where the ship is on that map. However, that is an amazing and mesmerizing map. I have never seen one of those before. It is remarkable and interesting.

They were stupid to sail into the ice field without taking the wind into consideration.

Thanks for the glow-bull warming ping. This shows (again) that these “scientists” don’t know what they are doing.

It shows that, bottom line, they dont have faith in their globull warming religion.Oh they had faith, that's why they went on a pilgrimage without charts and got stuck. Might be having a crisis of faith right about now though.

... this was a faith based voyage)They probably believed their computer models, and assumed that the ice had all melted away.

Have an American nuclear sub surface by them and get them out. The ultimate irony.

I’m not a meteorologist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. My forecast for Antarctica is that it will be cold and the wind will blow.
I’m not a Ship Captain, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. If the ice starts breaking up and there’s a path to open water, start the engines and go.
Where’s my money?

What does Joe Bastardi have to say about this nonsense?
To: Vince Ferrer
Probably not much of a ‘crisis of faith’ as I’m guessing that these folks are “true believers.” Nothing will cause them to ‘lose faith’, just like the American Communists who followed Stalin, no matter how much he changed his position on what was good or bad. If Stalin said ‘this is truth’ they blindly obeyed.

What does Joe Bastardi have to say about this nonsense? I'll make a guess...they're "stuck on stupid"....
