I blame all of the evils of Reconstruction on Prof. Gloria J. Browne-Marshall. Pretty sure she invented slavery, too.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
This professor has only confirmed with this article is that she is a nut. However this theme has bubbled up from other sources on the Left. That is that our basically verbal opposition to Obamacare has led to it being a disaster, not its inherent faults. Logic dictates that if it could work, it would, no matter what anybody said or did outside of changing the law itself. As Coach Bill Parcells once stated, “you are what your record is.” Obamacare has failed because it doesn't make any sense.

[S]outhern White radicals vowed to stop implementation of the Obama-care law leading one to wonder if Tea Party members would oppose affordable healthcare if it came from a nonBlack [sic] President, writes Browne-Marshall."
Because we remember how much conservatives supported it when Clinton tried the same thing.

Can you imagine going up against her in a court of law? Everyone in the courtroom would be wondering WTF she was rambling on about.

“wonder if Tea Party members would oppose affordable healthcare if it came from a nonBlack [sic] President”
I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t oppose AFFORDABLE healthcare, but we haven’t seen that from this president yet. On the other hand, we knew beforehand that this scheme was never going to produce affordable healthcare, nor was it intended to.

"Thick, ungrammatical prose" = functional illiteracy.
P.S. a hyphenated last name screams liberal feminazi from miles away. See a hyphenated last name and you have a greater than 95% likelihood of its owner being a brain dead libeal.

The main three essentials of we southerners are breath, food and racism. We just can't live without them. Sheesh.
If that hyphenated “Professor”had the slightest clue about the real world It would suprise me and her.

Well, the inventors/scientists who originally designed computers were white, so racism is inherently built into a computer’s basic architecture. This is why the healthcare.gov website seized up when “people of color” tried to use it.

"[S]outhern White radicals vowed to stop implementation of the Obama-care law leading one to wonder if Tea Party members would oppose affordable healthcare if it came from a nonBlack [sic] President, writes Browne-Marshall. "It's a good question. If Republican Romney was pushing Romneycare, what percent of the tea party would be up in arms about it?
Of course there would have been differences.
- Romney would probably have structured that as a tax credit instead of a penalty. AND there would be a corresponding increase in the general tax rate to offset the tax credit. Mathematically it's the same, but we are used to tax credits.s
- Romney wouldn't mandate a one-size fits all policy from the federal government. Instead he would have used the power of the Federal purse to make offers the states couldn't afford to refuse. It would still be a one-size fits all policy...but states would be pseudo voluntarily adopting the Romney plan.
- Romney would have gotten some competent contractors and managed the website building process better.
- Romney would have wavered on the abortion and contraception issues. He has a history of wavering depending on which way the political winds are blowing.
So all in all it's a good question. The reason we have as much opposition is not because a black man is president, but because:
- a democrat is president,
- the law was passed in a most undemocratic fashion,
- democrat senators were openly bribed to support the law,
- Congress didn't even read the bill,
- barefaced lies were told about being able to keep plans
- barefaced lies were told about whether it would be applied to illegals
- barefaced lies were told about costs go down instead of up
- exemptions were offered to political favorites
- there are death panels in the law
- there are objectionable abortion and contraception mandates.
- and the implementation was severely botched

How are they obstructing it, exactly? Every effort by conservatives, at every stage, were thwarted as Obamacare got rammed down our collective throats. Conservatives were barely able to debate it, much less make any meaningful changes to it. Many analysts from our side warned of problems with its implementation. Remember Paul Ryan's healthcare summit? Obama dismissed Ryan's criticism out of hand.
No, they got everything they wanted. Our side wanted at least a chance to read the legislation before voting on it. Nothing doing. The Supreme Court rubber stamped it. Obama got his people to create the website. They spent a small fortune of our money on it. Obama has made unilateral changes and exemptions to Obamacare almost from the beginning. There is not a single 'Tea Party' fingerprint anywhere on this monstrosity. How can the debacle be their fault?
