Many of us can identify with the frustrating experience that Karri Kinder, a mother of two from Auburn, Alabama, has had with Obamacare. She penned this open letter to share her story:
An Open Letter to the Obama Administration and American Citizens:
My familys journey with securing our new insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) started on October 1, 2013. I have decided to write this letter to let the American people know what it has been like for us. We are a family of four, with two little boys ages seven years old and three years old. My husband and I have had full time jobs for 6 years and 13 years respectively. We have been with the same two companies for those years. We are a middle class family; we own our three bedroom two bath house, we own two cars, and previously provided our own insurance for the four of us. We have coverage through Individual Blue from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama until 12/31/13. Our premiums have been $380.00 a month, which also included dental coverage for all four of us.
On October, 1, 2013 we received our letters like other Alabamians about our new premiums and plans for 2014 from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Alabama. When I opened our letter to say I had sticker shock was an understatement. Our premiums for the Blue Saver Silver would now be $753.26. This included the ACA tax but did not include the additional $75.00 we would need to pay in order to keep dental for me and my husband. So we would need to pay total $828.26 to keep health and dental insurance for the four of us. This payment is roughly $64.00 less than what we pay for our mortgage each month.

Welcome to the new Amerika. Compliments of Zero and the Democrats.
THIS is just why Obamacare was created....to make DECENT hard working families PAY FOR slackers that don’t pay taxes.
My new years prediction: Democrats will turn on Obamacare in droves, but it will not help them in November.
I think I see the problem: This family is almost completely debt free. They are not sufficiently dependent and shall be crushed. Worse, she has spoken up. She must be a right wing secret militia member and she will get special attention from all the alphabet government agencies to assure right thinking and subservience.

I guess they didn’t pick up on five years of warnings.
They either didn’t vote or voted for Obama.
I read through the whole pity-party article. An overly long recount of her troubles and difficulty in dealing with bureaucrats she mistakenly ascribes to “insurance companies”. She wasn’t dealing with ‘insurance companies’. She was talking to Exchange Bureaucrats - Obama’s people.
Insurance companies did not set the rules here, Obama did. He had THREE YEARS and over HALF A BILLION DOLLARS to get this right. And he signed up 6 people the first day. Today, January 1, 2014, his administration and the media are implying they’ve signed up nearly a million people, BUT THEY WILL NOT PROVE IT with evidence.
Honestly, I commiserate with her and her husband because they seem to be workers - producers and seem to be a nice family. The only thing I’d like to see in this article is who the hell she voted for in 2008 and 2012.
Good points!
Punishment for everyone the rats love to hate.
That family is going to get an IRS audit. She will learn to shut up.
The uniparty knows Obamacare is largely responsible for our economic suffering, yet it will neither defund nor repeal it.
Our demise is assured until more of us get our minds around the fact that our elected oligarchs in Washington DC will do nothing to save our dying republic. Elections cannot excise the virus of liberalism.
"Again, these rules are for those who are not on a free lunch with their employer
I wonder, instead of going to the ACA Exchange for coverage, why they didnt look to enroll in group health coverage with their respective employers. Of course it could be that both of their employers are very, very small companies that dont provide and arent required to provide any health insurance benefits or their employers plans open enrollment does not open at January 1 (some employer group health plans operate and renew on a fiscal year basis such as on July 1 or September 1 and not on a calendar year basis) or their employers plans really suck and would be even more expensive that what they got quoted on the exchange.
But I have to wonder why this option and explanation of why that was not an option, was left out of her letter.
Bump
Who did she vote for?

Unfortunately and sadly you are right. this same thing will be happening all across the nation as more and more “takers” get on board with the demodummies. Wait till the new amnesty kicks in.
Let’s hope it sinks most of them in November.
1. Did she vote for Obama ? If so...STFU...you got exactly want you voted for...
2. Alabama or Auburn fan...
That's not what she said. She made the comparison between a private insurance company, and getting good customer service, and the government, saying "I cant imagine how long a company would last in this country if they followed the same protocol as the ACA/Health Insurance Marketplace does." She was not mistaken at all.
