Tom Corbett's office put out a consumer alert that said at least 25,000 low-income Pennsylvanians who received confirmation on the website that they may be eligible for Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Program coverage may find out they were not enrolled as anticipated as of Jan. 1.
The governor's office said residents could not be enrolled in the state health insurance programs because states received incomplete records from the federal government.
The problem is just the latest in a series of glitches since the website, HealthCare.gov, started on Oct. 1. Insurers had complained that they were having problems completing enrollments because they were getting garbled or incomplete electronic files from the government...."
They are likely doing this to keep the lid on the coming massive cost increases for Medicare. I’d expect we won’t hear anything specific and substantive about it until after the November elections. Count on it.
So they may not be enrolled huh? I recall reading skepticism about the “claims” that 2 million people had enrolled. The writer compared this optimistic number to the 5 million people known to have lost their insurance because of Obamacare. Even taking the numbers at face value it meant a net loss of 3 million. Let’s take out this Medicaid snafu. Really...how many people actually signed up, will pay the premium and receive coverage? Is it almost half a million or a million maybe? And then subtract the 5 million who lost insurance.........
