".....The technical problem could affect tens of thousands of Medicaid applicants and represents the latest issue to arise in the rollout of a website thats been plagued with long waits for users and other glitches.
Some users who fill out applications on the federal site may believe that theyre already being enrolled in Medicaid or that state officials will contact them, even though the agencies arent receiving the information they need, said Matt Salo, executive director of the National Association of Medicaid Directors. The data transfer problem is occurring in the 36 states where the federal site is deployed, regardless of whether they chose to expand Medicaid.
Essentially, if youre a consumer on healthcare.gov, it will tell you youre eligible for Medicaid and the state agency will take care of it, but theres no real way for the state Medicaid agency to know anything about it, said Salo, who leads the nonpartisan membership group for state Medicaid chiefs....."

"......It is unclear how many people nationwide might be affected, but Gov. Tom Corbett's office put out a consumer alert that said at least 25,000 low-income Pennsylvanians who received confirmation on the website that they may be eligible for Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Program coverage may find out they were not enrolled as anticipated as of Jan. 1.
The governor's office said residents could not be enrolled in the state health insurance programs because states received incomplete records from the federal government.
The problem is just the latest in a series of glitches since the website, HealthCare.gov, started on Oct. 1. Insurers had complained that they were having problems completing enrollments because they were getting garbled or incomplete electronic files from the government...."
They are likely doing this to keep the lid on the coming massive cost increases for Medicare. I’d expect we won’t hear anything specific and substantive about it until after the November elections. Count on it.
So they may not be enrolled huh? I recall reading skepticism about the “claims” that 2 million people had enrolled. The writer compared this optimistic number to the 5 million people known to have lost their insurance because of Obamacare. Even taking the numbers at face value it meant a net loss of 3 million. Let’s take out this Medicaid snafu. Really...how many people actually signed up, will pay the premium and receive coverage? Is it almost half a million or a million maybe? And then subtract the 5 million who lost insurance.........
What I’m surprised about....is that a bunch of hackers didn’t sneak into the system, and insert eight hundred million folks onto the rolls. It would have taken months for them to figure out who was real and who was fake, and likely bankrupted the country.
well I imagine that could have taken place and they have no way to know about it - in other words, how many of the theoretical signups are real and how many are hacker fake? or friendly hacker (pro Obama) fake? To boost the numbers...
CMS Refuses To Turn Over Info On How Many Have Paid For Obamacare: We Dont Have That Detailed Info
Gotta wonder... Where did all that info from target go? While a strech of epic proportions.. might it turn up in the obamacare site?
There is a difference.
