After reading the David Kirkpatrick's NYT piece this evening, I decided to do a little cross-checking/fact-checking, as my web search came up bupkis. Specifically, I found no mention of a key suspect in the Benghazi attack in either the NYT piece nor any critique thereof. The suspect in question: Muhammad Jamal al Kashef.
It didn't take long to find the UNSC addition of al Kashef to the Al-Qaida Sanctions List, as it had occurred in October and was easy to find. I also found several other casual 'honorable mentions' thereof such as this piece from Long War Journal in February of this year about al Kashef's communications with Zawahiri and outlining his role.
Better, Thomas Joscelyn briefed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the Al-Qaida threat and specifically mentioned al Kashef and both the UNSC AQ Sanctions List & US State Dept. designations in October.
What confounds me is why old media seek to use the NYT's own reporting as evidence of a 'contradiction' when the evidence, as I read it, smacks of a disinformation campaign...
...and why new media's so quick to jump on their 'honorable-mention' reporting in October without presenting facts that are hardly known to the public.
I'm not suggesting that I or anyone else found the so-called 'smoking gun', as it's oft-been reported since October of last year.
It just seems like everyone suddenly has short memories (from 60 days ago)...or something...and I don't think it's my Southern Comfort...(Better New Year, Freepers)

because early and middle 20th century, people learned things, from their parents and schools, about values. therefore, if they saw something not right, they took action.
in the last 50 years or so, we lost our values and now most people only care about things that directly affect our lives. and that’s why I believe obamacare is going to come crashing down, because high premiums, copays, lost doctors etc, will eat at people day after day.
The damage the conspiricy seeks is that of the mind.

Because the forces that be [of the Clinton Dynasty] have told the lap dogs at NYT Benghazi must be minimalized.
They have to prepare a 2016 debate audience to respond correctly with ‘boos’ when Cruz rams her “what does it matter?” moment before Congress back in her craw. She will need the sympathy vote on this.
As an added bonus, they get to cover for Obama and Rice, too.

What's worse about it, is that they have to track every Meme and sometimes add to it as the facts come out otherwise.
Benghazi is a perfect example. Buying into President Obama's false assertion at the UN that a Youtube video was the impetus, they created the Meme that there is nothing to the Benghazi story. Hillary (a Progressive/Liberal darling) reinforced their Meme while Secretary of State. When the facts came out about the Al Qaeda involvement, they had to continue the Meme or there would be just too much egg on their faces.
Memes like continue to push the Mainstream Media toward more leftward looneyism (note PMSNBCs false assertions of racism on the GOP and Tea Parties almost daily; see the false racist attack on Romney for his black grandson and on Palin for her Christmas Tree [and all Christmas Tree Americans).
These memes are coming to roost as the public comes to know there falseness. The viewership dwindles and the advertisers leave causing even more loonyness (see PMSNBC again) to follow.
More than one media production will be no more in 2014 due to false memes held too long. It is my new years prediction.

Looks like the media has been given it’s marching orders. They are to make sure that everyone is “Ready for Hillary”.

That is a good thing, but getting the voting masses to have a passion for truth and accept it is the real problem. If the Godless government ruling America is not held accountable for its evil, the US will end up just like ancient Israel when they turned from God.
Trouble does loom out there and there may come such a time, in your post, as indicated. Jesus works miracles though, as does God, as does God's Angels. I'll continue to pray even if not heard. I have to take the chance though of being heard by God, Jesus and God's Angels. It is a Good Chance to take.
