Its over, he said.

I'm curious: are horse drawn carriages New York's biggest problem? Are they terrorizing the city or something? Are horse drawn carriages responsible for the murder rate in New York City or something?

The city is LOUD, crowded, noisy, dangeous and brutally hot in the summer. Yeah, horse cannot stand summer heat in a place as far south as New York.< /sarc>
I invite you to our summer rodeo series down in Texas. Our horse won't be walking but running hard, nor are they spoiled indoor AC dwellers.

I thought during the campaign he said: “If you like your horse-drawn carriage you can keep it. Period.”

Wilhelm is afraid that one of the horses is the Gatekeeper.
He does not want to perish in flames, or for all the prisoners to be released.

Liberals HATE free enterprise.
Destroying this industry will damage the productive sector of society and cause the affected to become more dependent on government programs. So of course de Blasio will abolish it.

The city is LOUD, crowded, noisy, dangeous and brutally hot in the summer. Yeah, but what are its bad qualities? :0)
Sorry, couldn't resist. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, back when it was still a nice place (think "The Honeymooners"). Back then, it was LOUD, crowded, noisy, and brutally hot in the summer. You knew your neighbors. We played stickball in the streets. You had enough common sense to avoid the dangerous parts of town.
I escaped New York when I got out of High School. Today I wouldn't give two cents for it.

Considering de Blasio’s marxist underpinnings, I seriously doubt this has anything to do with animal welfare... this is all about abolishing the bougeous appearance of affluent people enjoying the finer things in life.

So his first act is going to be putting a bunch of people out of work? Figures.
Ya deserve what you have voted for, NYC morons.

Why?
Only the mayor is allowed to spread the manure. The horses are competition.

Ah, that’s the first priority of the city! Forget drugs, crime, the economy. Let’s focus on the poor horsies.
And he just put how many people out of work by getting rid of these carriages (and all the workers in the stables!)?
To: george76
Ah well... this is what New Yorkers wanted... they demonstrated as such by a huge margin in November.

I went horseback riding with a girlfriend (horses and I don’t get along) in Bear Mountain Park in 1964. Now it is gone, I am so sad.

When you are a horse’s ass, riding in a carriage is kind of like riding along looking in a mirror.
