It didn't take long for A&E to cry uncle, and reverse its suspension of 'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson. And their announcement came on Friday night, the traditional time to lessen the public impact -- and before New Year's, perhaps slowest news cycle all year.
All the same, the reversal may mark a significant turning point in the culture wars, against radical activists who have been able to bully their way into our living rooms, workplaces and schools over the past 25 years.
A&E announced that Phil Robertson will return to the show in 2014. Their statement:
As a global media content company, A+E Networks core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into peoples home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.GLAAD, the homosexual pressure group, suffered a rare, stinging defeat. Their brief statement showed their displeasure, but also exposes their weakness, as they put "African-Americans" first in a rather pathetic attempt to deny the isolation they have brought on themselves with their anti-Christian bullying. Read on...That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phils comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the coarse language he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would never incite or encourage hate. We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold.
But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man's views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.
So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.
We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.
Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A+E has chosen profits over African American and gay people especially its employees and viewers. This sure doesn't sound like the same GLAAD that has swaggered its way through Hollywood halls for 2 decades, intimidating producers into caving on their every demand to increase homosexual characters and censor Christian content.
As they said in Watergate, “Follow the money.”
And they announce it on a Friday night. How 0bamaesque....
One gay man said it was like a hard wet snapping towel in the men shower.
This is not a “stinging defeat.” What is the current position but the same place that Phil was in before he was suspended? What was gained? Nothing, only a couple of weeks was lost. A&E is still as condemning of Phil’s statements, as is GLAAD, and they will likely try to make a mockery of him going forward.
Wake up, conservatives!!!!
Followed by excited quacking.
These guys are a paper tiger. It only takes a couple of people to stand up to them and more and more will follow. They have to silence anyone who says the Emperor has no clothes to keep up the charade.
May this be the first of many.
Agreed. Plus there are going to be PSAs made now. We have to wait and see what’s in these PSAs.

1. Don't ever provoke a public battle with someone whose personal and professional life resonates with the public. You should have learned this lesson with the Chick-Fil-A debacle.
2. Don't ever mount a political campaign against someone who isn't a political figure and doesn't rely on government intervention for their livelihood. Conservatives who enjoy financial success outside of politics aren't the same as the simpering wimps you find in the Beltway.
3. Don't mess with a guy whose family makes ZZ Top look like a group of clean-shaven girls.
> One gay man said it was like a hard wet snapping towel in the men shower.
In this day and age you have to pop the towel to keep ‘em away from you and your children’s backsides.
I disagree with you. The “Duck Dynasty” empire is in a better position right now than it was before this whole thing began. I don’t even like the damn show but I’ll go out of my way to support these guys.
Ugh.
Let's not hear anything about queers and hard things in the shower.
Suffice it to say GLADD is not glad.
The Big Loser:
Nancy Dubuc President and CEO of A&E
She is the executive who made the decision to pull Phil Robertson from the show.Report: A&E CEO Suspended Robertson for Sake of Gay Employees
"Nancy Dubuc, currently receiving death threats, said she had to take action out of respect for A&E's LGBT employees."
WRONG. We have to demand that GLAAD have NO PART of those TSAs . GLAAD is reeling, their donations are way down. It's time to defeat them once and for all.
And the outcome still remains to be determined.
Duck Dynasty to resume filming with Phil Robertson after A&E lifts ban

In a statement Friday night to Fox News, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination
said dialog between Robertson and the black and gay communities was a critical
next step.
Phil Robertson should look African-American and gay people in the eyes and hear about
the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists,
the statement said. If dialog with Phil is not part of next steps, then A&E has
chosen profits over African-American and gay people especially its employees
and viewers.

I bet A&E are now a big doner to GLAAD, if they weren’t before.

Now THAT’s funny...: )
the fag agenda is to silence the morality of the majority. Those straight folks who agree with the gay agenda...hypocrits...because they would all be gay.
