Tens of thousands in the Northeast and Midwest who spent Christmas in the dark and cold after a vicious ice storm...

Aw, that ding-blasted, gosh-darned imaginary anthropogenic global warming!

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Other areas of the country may be getting snow, ice or other bits of weather to remind them what time of the year it is — but in southern California, residents are retreating to the beach to escape the heat. On Christmas morning, the beaches of Los Angeles were packed with surfers and sunbathers, with no shortage of outdoor enthusiasts taking part in other recreational activities. “I usually spend (Christmas) in a very, very cold Boston,” Christine Lam said during her beach picnic. “It’s nice to have a second family. Every year they get ice storms in the Northeast and people lose their power. It looks like sooner or later the power companies would put these power lines underground.

“Not a creature was stirring as the lights were all out!”

If I lived in the north, knowing ice brings down power lines, I would have ways to stay warm, have stored food and ways to cook and have light. Anyone living there and not being prepared for power going out, isn’t thinking.

What a pity families have gone to shelters where they have to depend on someone else to keep them alive. I think this illustrates what will happen in a large scale outage of power across the country. Shelters can’t hold millions upon millions of people, and if power is out everywhere, shelters will be just like every other building like you said, “...as the lights were all out!”

Ice storms suck. Thoughts and prayers for anyone having to deal with this kind of storm. I hate ‘em. Give me a snowstorm any day of the week.
