“Not a creature was stirring as the lights were all out!”

If I lived in the north, knowing ice brings down power lines, I would have ways to stay warm, have stored food and ways to cook and have light. Anyone living there and not being prepared for power going out, isn’t thinking.

What a pity families have gone to shelters where they have to depend on someone else to keep them alive. I think this illustrates what will happen in a large scale outage of power across the country. Shelters can’t hold millions upon millions of people, and if power is out everywhere, shelters will be just like every other building like you said, “...as the lights were all out!”

We are always prepared for electrical outages such as these. We just go about our daily business with minor changes. It’s no big deal.

You would think that anyone living in an area prone to such outages, or some other situation such as hurricanes would learn to be prepared for them, but some don’t.

Our weather wasn’t too bad, the snow was all gone before Christmas day. Today was pretty nice - temperature was unusually warm for this time of year. Oldest daughter got all packed to move today. She will head out of state tomorrow for a new job.

I am so glad that the weather was better this week.
