...sparking outrage among her Real Housewives Of Atlanta cast-mates
Her grandfather was famous civil rights leader Hosea Williams.
But Porsha Stewart appears embarrassingly ignorant about her country's history.
The 32-year-old reality star revealed that she thought the Underground Railroad was a real train on Sunday night's episode of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta.
Porsha and her cast-mates were seen going on a so-called Freedom Trail tour in Savannah, where they visited a church used as part of the Underground Railroad, the term given to the network of people who helped slaves escape from the South to the North during the 1800s.
The tour guide explained to the women that the holes in the floor of the church were used as ventilation for the people passing through a secret crawl space under the building.
Porsha then expressed her confusion, and betrayed her ignorance.
'Well there has to be an opening for the railroad at some point because somebody's driving the train,' Porsha replied, genuinely perplexed.
'It's not electric like what we have now,' she added as the tour guide laughed nervously.
'It wasn't a train, baby,' Phaedra Parks said as the other cast-members stood by in shock. 'That was just a euphemism, baby.'

This is the stupidity that is almost a requirement to be famous these days
I guess I am stupid because I have no idea who Porsha Stewart is or why we should care.
That entire chapter of American history should be put away by whites and blacks. No more hanging onto the past.
She is apparently on one of those Housewives shows or something
Thanks!
You are not alone!
She also believes she was named after a German automobile.
“No more hanging onto the past.”
Obviously you are a racist, the word “hanging” reveals your inner racism and insensitivity.
I don’t want to make fun of this.
It’s just too damned sad.
“But we have one here in New York.”
The only NYC subway line that runs entirely underground is the “E” train. My father used to tell me that was why it was much preferred in the winter by homeless people.
Rather like the underground runway at Plant 42 at Palmdale CA. It was one of the big secrets! But the biggest secret was the underground air through which one would fly after using the underground runway!
>>The only NYC subway line that runs entirely underground is the ‘E’ train.
Very interesting. I would never in a million years figured that. And I’ve lived here all my life.
I would never have known it either, except for Dad. He always knew all kinds of weird stuff like that.
And he liked to keep up with pop culture, even though he was a very conservative person.
I remember him quizzing me, when I was like 6 years old! about the Beatles: who was the cutest one, etc.
In the corner of my mind I knew this was sort of backwards!
It was actually a metaphor, baby.
One's almost as dumb as the other.
No worse really than Hank Johnson (D-GA) who thought Guam would tip over if new facilities were built on one side of the island.
But then again, there is the famous real TV episode of that Jessica Simpson.

Sad thing is, she’s known as the smartest “housewife.”
