(They were watching the old Truth or Consequences TV show...) They eventually decided that the best way to resolve the bet would be to call Ma Bell directory information and get the area code for “T or C”. Imagine my uncle’s astonishment when the operator said there was no such place, said to stop with the crank calls, and hung up. He had to pay up!
