Washington (AFP) - A weary Barack Obama, eyelids heavy, predicted Friday that the restorative power of sleep and the sunshine of his native Hawaii would restore his wilting fortunes after a bleak year.
The US president began 2013 with a soaring inaugural address laying out an ambitious second term agenda, sensing a mandate for liberal transformation despite a joyless re-election campaign.
He ended it with a ponderous press conference, deflecting dire assessments of his prospects and gingerly testing an optimistic message for 2014: "We are poised to do really good things."
Second term presidencies are always tough, as exhaustion, unmet promises and fading political zeal humble exhausted administrations.
But Obama's prospects look especially cloudy.
His agenda is comprehensively jammed in Congress. Key initiatives like gun control foundered and Obama's approval ratings have plunged to record lows.
Meanwhile, his bond of trust with Americans has been compromised.

No prizes will be awarded by the cognoscenti. All prizes and awards I can think of, regardless of what they were originally for, are now administered by and for liberals. Look at the medal of freedom or other civilian honors going to people who are disgusting. And, for what? For being liberal. Obama got a Nobel prize for not being George Bush.
John Kerry got the Purple Heart and other medals for being well-connected. Hillary Clinton had gotten ten awards in the last nine months, for being Hillary Clinton. She and Bill are BOTH Rhodes Scholars; search those rolls for a conservative. It will be a long task.
The Annenberg Foundation, (he was very conservative) backed the Chicago school project where noted terrorist Bill Ayers and BO made plenty of money and accomplished nothing beyond making kids into radicals.
Liberals have made all awards meaningless.
I find is infuriating, actually. I can only hope he goes surfing with a Great White.

We can only conclude this America-hating Boob does not see himself as president of a thriving America----in his Chicago- polluted mindset, he represents the ne'er do wells, slackers, layabeds, dumbos, ignoramuses, gutter snipes, bums and pan- handlers.....and a handful of deserving people who slipped through the cracks.
The only conclusion is that this vengeful Boob is deliberately punishing hard-working Americans b/c they worked hard and have healthcare THAT THEY LIKE:
(1) he deliberately upended the healthcare system leaving millions unprotected,
(2) he nationalized 1/6 of the US economy,
(3) he spent billions of tax dollars for nothing, spending good money after bad, and,
(4) he imposed multiple travesties on doctors, hospitals, insurers, health providers, and hard-working taxpayers.
The demands of the presidency do not take a vacation.
If this guy thinks he can get more sleep just because he’s not staying in the White House, then he’s thinking that somebody else is going to be taking care of a lot of those demands of the presidency.

HERE'S ANOTHER FINE MESS BOOBAMBA GOT US INTO .....insurers calculated premiums on the expectation that relatively healthy folks already buying insurance privately would be buying on the O/Care exchanges. The insurers are not happy about Obama's latest delay --- the 14th, thus far---- announced Friday before he flew off to Hawaii. Insurers will probably ask for more money via O/Care's cockamamie “risk corridors” provision......
That means taxpayers will subsidize more and more of this boondoggle:

<><> those hustled onto Medicaid (the O team ditched the Asset Test),
<><>subsidies for enrollees who "say" it's unaffordable,"
<><>BIG BUCKS for little-used state exchanges, AND,
<><> $$hundreds of millions for Michele's dumbo Princeton pal's flopola website.
It sounds bleak for the fallen messiah . . . until we recall that his agenda is going full speed ahead, transforming America in ways that can never be set right after he leaves office. People might joke about Pajama Boy, but he is the face of America’s future.

"Really" is a weak word. It implies that the message is weak and that people don't believe it. "Good" is weak, since it implies no more than "not evil" in this case. Of course, following "really," it means people don't believe it, either.
