On Thursday, a town hall meeting hosted by Al Sharpton and the National Action Network to address gun violence exploded into a revolt against Chicago Machine politics, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and the aldermen in City Hall, with panel and audience members calling to vote out their elected officials.
One 82-year-old preacher even called for Tea Party style meetings in some of Chicagos south side communities such as Altgeld Gardens and Trumbull Park.
This was a historic event, Paul McKinley of V.O.T.E. (Voices of the Ex-Offender) and former 2nd Congressional District GOP nominee to replace Jesse Jackson, Jr. told Breitbart News. Not because of Al Sharpton coming to town, he continued. This was first time since electing Mayor Harold Washington in the eighties that all of these grassroots groups and community organizers have come together under one roof to talk about the problems plaguing our community.
While the stated goal for Sharpton was to bring the many different groups together to discuss solutions to the citys violence epidemic, he may not have gotten the types of responses he was looking for. Calls for more gun control laws and getting guns off the streets were nonexistent and not mentioned by residents throughout the session.

Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint going to resign.
Abbreviation for “whitey”. (I first saw it on some dissident/alt-right websites).
Great post. Am I the only one without sound on the video? I wonder what could be the reason?
McKinley's right on this...
To change the metaphor, the parasites have consumed the host and now devour one another.
Please note the first comment:
This isn't a race issue. Like they were saying they need to vote differently. Politicians around the country better listen up because there is a welling up of dissatisfaction.
The writer is quite right, there is a welling up of dissatisfaction around the country but he is quite wrong when he says "this isn't a race issue", it is race that has held the Democrat coalition in Chicago in place all my life. Chicago is an ethnic hellhole on its way to becoming a Detroit with a coalition of races, classes and ethnicities pitted against a relatively white state and white suburbia.
It has become become empty ritual in America to deny the essential truth and observe with utterly no factual basis that it "isn't about race."
Nathan Bedford's first Maxim of American politics: all politics in America is not local but ultimately racial.
"They"? Why, they is the plain and fancy they, that's who "they" is! Caught you, didn't they? Tied a tin can to your tail. Led you in and waltzed you out again. Oh my, what a bunch! Big tough ones, hunh? Here you are with a handful of holes, a thumb up your ass, and a big grin to pass the time of day with. They? Who the hell is "they?"

Not sure that was the underlying issue....
I heard calls for that three letter word “jobs” and references to jobs being taken away....
Al Sharpton Bump.....
I've said it before here on FR and I'll say it again: ANYONE who's read the public commentary sections of the Chicago news print media whenever a "gun control" opinion piece is published would know that the black communities in/around Chicago DO NOT WANT more gun control laws --- they are heavily in favor of Illinois' new conceal/carry laws which STRUCK DOWN Chicago's strict gun laws. These folks want to be able to defend themselves from the gang bangers!
Or send in "advisers" to the revolutionaries as done by the feds prior to overthrow of a government...........
“Tea party should go in and connect with them.”
The liberals would do anything and everything possible to stop that from happening.
Even the Zombies are finally waking up!
Last time I went to the store, they had black tea, white tea and even green tea ;)
I love it!
Hi. Did you ever get sound on the video? Theer are many reasons for not having sound. Not sure why it did not work for you. Try another site like YouTube and see if you have sound.
Heartwarming. Notice that church leaders were speaking up among those in attendance. There are so many good people there that have been stuck by those in power for so long. I have hope for REAL change. This is We the People in action. My prayers for them all.
bkmk
The opinion on any issue where voters throughout the political spectrum agree, or have the potential to agree will be deemed “extremist “, “radical “, “racist”, “sexist”....something, anything, to shut them down. Politicians on both sides have to keep us divided so they can keep on stealing, lying and bellying-up to the trough. We need term limits for these ingrates.
There is hope.
