That, it would. These recently minted Americans don't owe the black American community a doggone thing.
In fact, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if lots of them feel just a bit of disdain toward blacks in this country. Most of them have worked extraordinarily hard to get here, and to make something of themselves.
I can only imagine what they think of blacks who were born here, but who've squandered all of the boundless opportunity surrounding them.

This isn't the first time I've run into the 'blacks are dumb because of their genes' theory on FR.
It's one of the reasons I tend to stay off threads like this one. There's almost always some person promoting the cockamamie idea that people are the sum total of their DNA, and nothing more.
That's a level of ignorance that I have no idea what to do with.
I agree. Perhaps the children of such people will be more apt to reach out to help that community. I could see that.
Well I hit Abuse. It is just so cockamamie. I can believe in influences through spiritual theories and some anthropological cultural theories. But unless we are speaking of the frankly handicapped, and I have never heard of this documented for a whole race, all humans are capable of being as decent (or indecent) as what they choose to invest their souls in. This is true whether you mean pygmies or Australian aborigines or tall Swedes.

Exactly right. People are composed of a lot more than just meat and bone. The bigger part of us is spirit, which isn't affected one iota by DNA. Spirit is the origin point of character and personality. Those things can be colored (for better or worse) by a person's upbringing, surroundings during their formative years, and their life experiences.
Such traits aren't passed through the blood. They're passed from mind to mind through a kind of contagion. Grow up around righteous, upstanding people, and there's a better than even chance that you'll turn out that way yourself. Grow up in worse circumstances, and you may get people who play the 'knockout game'.
I wonder what they say about ebola, it started in Africa too.
Being near good examples helps.
But a solo experience with God can also save. I can speak to that personally.

I make no excuses for Black crime — it’s a serious problem that must be addressed truthfully. But the connection you’re making, anton, is too general regardless of your observations.

New York sadly is typical. Here is one for you: As a percentage of the population the city with the highest Aids/HIV infection rate, the highest infant mortality rate, and ranked consistently 49th or 50th in education.

While I'm reasonably certain there were homosexuals the activity wasn't encouraged nor for the good of society openly accepted. Now the lifestyle is not only accepted but is encouraged by recruitment aimed at our children. Tolerance my eye.
