SHORT HILLS, N.J. Four people are in custody in connection with a deadly carjacking outside an upscale mall in northern New Jersey that left a lawyer dead after two men shot him as he reportedly tried to protect his wife, authorities said early Saturday.
Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County prosecutor's office, did not provide details or elaborate on the arrests, but said additional information will be released at a news conference Saturday morning, according to The New York Post.
Dustin Friedland, 30, was shot in the head Sunday night in front of his wife in the parking garage of The Mall at Short Hills, about 10 miles west of Newark, after being confronted by two carjackers.
His car, a Range Rover, was discovered the next morning in Newark. A reward of more than $40,000 was being offered for information leading to the arrest of the killers.

This act sanctioned by al sharpton, president obama and jesse jackson... they encouraged it with their hate and bigoted racism.
And the authorities and mSM still don’t know what they ook like.
An eye for an eye is un Christian. It is, however, very much in keeping with Torah.
Good point about the dehumanizing aspect. The “knockout game” is a prime example, where you have no interaction with your victim prior to the attack. Calling it “polar bear hunting” further dehumanizes (actually, “animalizes”) the white victims.
Al Sharpton was a master at inciting this evil; most productive people never had to deal with his fan base. This mall is Short Hills is NICE (I don’t know if they still do it, but years ago they had valet parking there); the victims probably never imagined they’d run into these monsters there.
Here in NJ there is strict segregation, as the ‘burbs are populated with the descendants of those who fled when the cities fell; there aren’t many wailing, “Can’t we all just get along?” here - they know better.
We can’t.
Are you kidding?
The lack of description screams the race and that would be racist.
Well we won’t need to worry about JJ or rev.al there is no money for the rent a mob protest.
Same applies here in SE PA. The Philly collar counties are the haven. As long as you avoid malls/movie theaters that are on SEPTA lines, you’re generally ok.
And no, I won't bet against you!
But, it is in the Bible non the less. Old testament but still there.
PA allows CCW, in NJ you are lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
We moved to Alaska from Pa. in early 90s. No gun permits of any kind here in Alaska. Friends tell me Pa has really changed for the worse too (crime) though. Here in Alaska, everybody has a gun on them, mainly to shoot game when they see it while they are driving down the road, I keep a 10 inch S&W 460 on my trk dash. I have a bunch of pistols also, but rarely have them on my belt. No Afri Amers within 300 miles of my house, no crime to speak of; last shooting was over 30 years back.
I have two adopted grandchildren both under four years old, both with White and Black biological parents. They are being brought up by White parents in a predominately White neighborhood. I really am concerned what prejudices they encounter because of the inner-city Black scum and the AO of a president; a “man” who could have been a positive force for peace and reconciliation; but chose instead, to raise bigotry and racism, for political gain, to a level analogous to Hitler’s drive against the Jews.
If it wasn't a wealthy "one-percenter" driving a Range Rover who was killed, the story wouldn't even have made the news.
I have family out by Trooper; Norristown seems to be the local slum. Asked a cop there for directions one night; he had a huge dog in the car with him...
Yes, Norristown is a dump, despite being the county seat of Montgomery County, one of the wealthier counties in the country. Same goes for most of the areas adjacent to Philly. The transition as you move from lower Montgomery or lower Bucks County into the central areas of each county is remarkable. What a difference 10 miles makes....
And that is why I live in PA. Helping a friend who is new to firearms pick out a pistol for defense. He’ s a NJ resident and the silliness he has to go through just to keep a handgun in his home (CCW is not even with trying for) is ridiculous. I feel bad for him. Parts of NJ are really quite beautiful, particularly those along the Delaware River, but their laws regarding firearms ownership are so ridiculous that you feel like you’re in Castro’s Cuba, instead of being just 100 yards across the river from PA.
