Laura Ingraham defends Phil Robertson (vanity)
me

Posted on 12/20/2013 6:45:46 AM PST by Leaning Right

Laura Ingraham was on O'Reilly's show last night, and she defended Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson 100%. No maybes, just a solid defense. Very refreshing. Way to go Laura! O'Reilly as usual waffled all over the place.

She was right. Don’t you love the shock when she called Bill wrong?

Bill needs to do his back-flips to appear to be “above the fray”. Total phony.

OReally was being very judgmental in calling Robertson judgmental.

Bill is one of those cafeteria Catholics who tear out the pages he doesn’t agree with.

Ted Baxter did a very poor job of stating the Christian case. He kept saying that homosexuality is only condemed in the Old Testament. . . he could not be more wrong about that.

What really upset me is that he mischaracterized the admonition of Christians not to judge. We are commanded not to judge the eternal fate of individuals. That is reserved to the Son at the end times. Also, any man can be reconciled to God until the time he dies and then enter salvation. However, bet your last dollar on the fact that we, as Christians are in fact EXPECTED TO JUDGE BEHAVIOR. It is essential if one is to attempt to live a life even remotely close to what God expects of us. From a practical standpoint, Christian or not, we ALL have to do that daily just to survive.

Although he did not quite get it done, Phil made an attempt to drive home the point that we are ALL sinners in the eyes of God and, without Jesus, will be condemned eternally. I think the difference in homosexuality, as indicated in the first chapter of Romans, is that homosexuality can be a sign that an individual has rejected God, and God has responded by giving them over to their sin and lust. That does not bode well for their chances of ultimate reconciliation to God, but again, all things are possible with God and an eventual reconciliation would be possible to the glory of God and the work of the Holy Spirit. . . IMHO

Phil Robertson was voicing his opinion! That used to be OK, didn’t it?

O'Reily was lost in the weeds over this.

Not only that but he takes it upon himself to call the Gospel accounts of Our Lord's passion and death false and then writes his own version of trhe 'true' story!

OREilly was lost in the weeds...

It started years ago. There was some real issue about the government (I forget what) and he played the media game of spending his whole show on a sensationized murder. When his callers objected, OReilly said that he covered what the people wanted.

Conclusion....he's always been a shill, and his playbook is to be just fake-conservative enough to reel in the audience, and then distract them from real issues with his garbage.

Now, he doesn't even pretend to "get it" that this is too much for conservatives, and we're ready to vocally defend our and everyone else's freedom of speech.

OReally was being very judgmental in calling Robertson judgmental. Bill is one of those cafeteria Catholics who tear out the pages he doesn’t agree with.

He often steps in it when he tries to interpret scripture. You can tell he hasn't really submitted in humility -- he is still an intellectual Christian at best. He trotted out the old "judge not lest ye be judged" line as if that's the only thing the Bible ever said about judgment. But he doesn't seem to understand that Christ also taught discernment, as in John 7:24: "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." In other words, don't try to be "fair" (a favorite word of liberals and children); try to judge according to what God would consider righteous.

Just heard her on her radio show talking about it and she mentioned the situation when Ed Schultz called her a talk slut. She said he apologized and wrote her; Laura said she was busy promoting her book and didn’t get back to him but said it wasn’t a huge deal.

No only are we Christians to judge behavior (of other Christians) but we are to call it out, lest we be lumped in with the ongoing sin, as Paul writes.

If we acquiesce or look the other way when others proclaiming to be believers are committing sins, or simply say, "it's not for me to judge," then we are sinning.

Non-believers, must come to look at their own lives of sin, ask for forgiveness from God first, others if need be, then ask Jesus to come live in our hearts forever.

We should never be surprised by non-believers refusing to look at what they do, how they live, etc. (for we did the same) as sin for that is the meaning of sin - pride and placing oneself before God.

Christians have been judging Homo’s for thousands of years.

All of them cannot be wrong.

God has judged the actions of homosexuals with a very permanent disease. It amazes me how liberals will pass laws to stop people from smoking, citing cancer to the smoker and those that are subject to the smoke while singing the praises of an abnormal behavior that rewards the participant and the innocent around them, with a pernicious and miserable disease.

Homosexuals are so thin skinned and whine more than anybody else. I can’t believe anyone could “evolve” into believing that they’d be a great asset to our military. About all they’ve done since DADT was done away with is whine about religious practices and traditions in the military. Doing away with DADT was a pretty piss poor idea, IMHO.
