For their Christmas Holiday concert Kings Park school in Long Island cut several religious references from their music. It was too offensive.
Its an Obama world. Silent Night is now too offensive to sing at school. CBS Local reported:
The song Silent Night is at the heart of a concert controversy on Long Island.
Kings Park school officials removed several religious references, including Holy infant and Christ the Savior, from the popular Christmas carol before a student concert last week, WCBS 880′s Mike Xirinachs reported.
The intent was to avoid offending non-Christians, but the change left others upset.
Im not too happy with that, its kind of insulting, parent Robert Dowd said.

Pull your kids out now
Nobody minds offending Christians, because they know we won’t kill them or blow them up.
Too bad “Silent Night” is public domain.
Try such bu#$h!t with a copyrighted song and you could be hit with a lawsuit for infringement.
I've always thought that on THAT day the trouble in the middle east will FINALLY end.
How they’ve twisted the word “offensive” into meaning “anything we don’t want ourselves or anyone else to know”.
On that day the trouble will just be beginning.
“...Holy Infant so tender and mild...”
Yikes! I’m offended! Oh, no my eyes saw what cannot be seen! My ears heard what cannot be heard! AAAGGH!! I’m meltiiing. I’m becoming a ZOMBIE!! The politicaly correct “not-sees” have made hypersensitivity into an art form.
The Holy Night part, right? Conjure up images of gun violence?
Not for me. I intend on being a GOOD girl until my end.
Maybe the trouble will just be the beginning for you...that's not my problem. God will take care of everything...it will be the END, unless you think that God can't handle it.
These fools have no idea, do they?
But it’s just fine, for your kids, without your permission or knowledge, to be taught the finer points of sodomite practices in their government indoctrination centers. I will never understand what could be so important to parents that they would put their precious children in the hands of that bunch to be “educated”.
Not the Long Island of my youth anymore....we never had such PC crap back then...we need a separation of school and state.
I grew up on Long Island, too. We had Christmas trees, Christmas carols, etc. in the public schools....no problem.
My cousin is an elementary school teacher on Long Island and she told me about some of the PC crap that goes on nowadays.
By the way, she votes Republican and despises Obama.
“In 1946 an education officer in the military government declared that “Silent Night” had become a song of the Hitler Youth and therefore was now forbidden.” P.285 The American Occupation of Germany
I trust those people don’t let their children touch US currency, with those words on it...
What, this again? It’s from December, but still, look for more of this next winter.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
