The Obama administration Thursday night significantly relaxed the rules of the health-care law for millions of consumers whose individual insurance policies have been canceled, saying they could buy bare-bones health plans or entirely avoid the requirement that most Americans have health insurance.
The surprise announcement, four days before the Dec. 23 deadline for people to choose coverage that begins on Jan. 1, triggered an immediate backlash from the health insurance industry and raised new fairness questions about a law intended to promote affordable and comprehensive coverage.

In 1961 Ronald Reagan gave a speech warning us about socialized medicine. He quoted Norman Thomas (a candidate for the Socialist Party 1927) “The American people would never vote for socialism, but under the name Liberalism the people will adopt every fragment of the Socialism program.
If the Republicans had a single stone between them, they'd force Obama to execute the law of the land as written, and not allow him to legislate from the Oval Office like he's doing.
If they were truly interested in becoming the dominant party, and forwarding the ideals held in common by those who sent them to Congress, that's what they'd do. They'd make Obama and the Dems own every bit of the excruciating pain of Obamacare, and never offer to lift a finger to help them stop it.
But no. Not only are they letting Obama get away with ruling by imperial diktat, they're probably going to help him relieve the pain in some way or another, and forestall the inevitable destruction of the DemoSocialist party.

If I were Ted Cruz, I would announce today that I was running for President in 2016. I would say that my main platform would be that I would use the new executive powers created by Obama to delay ALL of Obamacare for 100 years and give exemptions to EVERY US resident.
Looks like the Democrats in the Executive are giving the more self-sufficient voters (those not so linked with medical-insurance government and buying cheaper insurance) the hookup and tossing the medical-insurance racket under their bandwagon. Republicans should top that by slashing the costs of the medical racket.

Unfortunately the people who this will really affect, i.e. the middle class, can’t afford to file lawsuits.
You know one that I learned in living overseas is that passing laws is one thing, enforcing them or gaining obedience to them is quite another.
I think that the biggest achilles heel that conservatives have is their reflexive obedience to any edict.
It seems to me that if someone (covered and cancelled) really tries to go through the ObamaCare online process and is unable to secure insurance directly - they just may have a case against the government. Even those that are several steps up from clueless can easily be caught in a no insurance mess come January 1st.

Except an insurance company who goes along with this can be sued for breaking the law.

The key reason for this move to surface on PM Friday (12/20) is that it falls into the black-hole of politics - that is the ‘tent flap of obscurity’ used for news releases with political or real-life impact on Friday afternoons and before major holidays. Oh, How skilled they are.... brilliant (lied =>> died, etc.)

What we are witnessing is the destruction of the private Health Insurance Industry, and the consequent defacto nationalization of our health care system.
Say hello to death p[anels and health care patronage. Your wife has terminal cancer? Call your leftist Congressman for his intervention with the death panel to obtain extended life health care. If you are white, or a conservative, guess what....wifey dies. Thats what this means.
And what of hubby? Some of his ilk will take up the gun and go downtown ballistic. Thats why every federal agency is “ammo’d up.”
