The conservative group Ending Spending may have premiered the ad that nationalizes the 2014 midterm elections around Obamacare.
The 30-second killer ad was produced by Republican media consultant Larry McCarthy and goes after Jeanne Shaheen, the first-term Democratic Senator from New Hampshire who is likely to face former GOP Senator Scott Brown next year.
The ad begins with footage of Shaheen on the Senate floor echoing President Obama by saying, if you like your insurance you can keep it. An overlay graphic points out that Obama was given the Lie of the Year award from a fact-checking group for that whopper.
The ad then shifts to a local focus: It notes 20,000 people in New Hampshire have lost their insurance to date and that Obamacare exchanges offer only a single provider on the states individual market.
The ad ends with a zinger sign-off: Next November, if you like your senator, you can keep her. If not, you know what to do.
Its a very powerful ad indeed, Grace Marie Turner, the head of the Galen Institute, a health-care advocacy group, told me.
Chris Cillizza, the Washington Posts top political blogger, says Obamacares growing unpopularity makes the ads message dangerous for any Democrat. The latest ABC News poll shows 70 percent of independents oppose Obama on health care. Nearly half of all voters think Obamacare is making the health-care system worse versus only 19 percent who think it will improve matters. Cillizzas conclusion: You have a very scary situation for Shaheen and any other Democrat, which is almost all of them, on the record supporting the ACA. Get used to this ad. You are going to see it thousands of times in various forms before 2014 is over.
I’m confident that the GOP-e will find a way to lose this golden opportunity.
If you like your politican, you can keep your politican. Otherwise, you can choose another...:
A phrase to be popularized for the 2014 and 2016 elections...
Being Republicans, they will find a way to soften the edges before next November.
At that time it will be: “Sen Shaheen likes her fluffy little dog Rover. If you like your dog, too, then we think you should go for a walk and enjoy nature.”
I hope the thing is playing every day til November 4th, 2014...
Suggested follow up is my tag line....
Merry Christmas & Happy Chanukah!
*You are going to see it thousands of times in various forms before 2014 is over.*
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
Is it possible to overdose on schadenfreude?
Most likely McCain will somehow try to intimidate the GOP there like he did before when running against Obama.
This is the phrase that pays!
I'll buy a bumpersticker with this on it if I see one in the store.
“.................Americans already know that ObamaCare means higher premiums and a shrinking roster of doctors. But they have not yet realized that ObamaCare plans are not portable and will impede their ability to travel.
What happens to those plans to send the kids to live with the grandparents for the summer, when little Josh needs to keep up with his allergy shots? What decision will a family make when Dad needs to move to start his new job, while the kids stay behind to finish up the school year? What kind of financial pain will be inflicted on American contract workers, who rent a hotel residence for three months while they complete a project? And who will buy a vacation home when the costs include out-of-pocket medical expenses?
Moreover, ObamaCare may soon start impacting access to emergency room care. With Americans no longer able to receive routine medical services when they travel, will they start showing up in emergency rooms for sore throats and backaches? And how will these new throngs of patients affect the waiting time of people with genuine medical emergencies?
“I have 35 years in the industry, and I’ve never seen anything like this,” the New York insurance broker told me. “ObamaCare is a rolling disaster. Every time we go down the road, we get hit with another catastrophe.”

Meanwhile, Obamacare is killing our rights, jobs and health care.
Which party has the general welfare in mind? Which one deserves loyalty?
Wow, I bet they polled the ad too. The great thing is that it's repeatable across the country in every state where there is a Dim Senator. Goodbye Mary Landrieu.
You gotta love the footage of the family with the baby in the background.
I didn't really understand Schadenfreude until Obamacare. Thanks Mr. President!
How did you know I went to Oberlin?!?
OMG, ROTFLMAO
Honestly, this is the most fun that politics has been for me, EVER!
Coincidence?
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Scott Brown is a carpetbagger RINO from MA. He could not beat Warren who lives the dream from the hippie years.
I like it!
