A Lebanese army sniper killed an Israeli soldier near the border fence near Rosh Hanikra on Sunday night.
An initial IDF assessment, based on data from lookout positions on the border, found shots were fired by a soldier from the Lebanese Armed Forces who apparently was acting alone.
Six to seven shots were fired at the IDF soldier who was standing on a road adjacent to the electronic border fence with Lebanon.

Took 6 shots to kill the guy?? Not much of a sniper.
However it seems a pretty provocative act to murder a soldier who is on his own territory.
What can be done about it?

Leveling a few moderately populated neighborhoods in Beirut ought to get the point across.
Since Israel is small, bordering territory is mapped and photographed in great detail, and Israel has amazing intelligence gathering. The name and location of the shooter could be already known.
Firing multiple shots from across this border without raising alarm probably means a breach of normal Israeli security procedures. Someone’s in trouble.
Israel has to respond these provocations
Thus my suggestion.
for a Muzzie that’s being a marksman
OTOH how did the IDF guy not get out of the line of fire after the intitial shot?
Do they have MLRS?

I remember one WWII story of an American unit advancing into Germany. They took some sniper fire as they approached so they pulled back and put artillery on the town all night. They didn’t have any more trouble with that town, IIRC.
I love a happy ending.

Firing a half dozen .50 BMG rounds would seem to attract a LOT of attention. There would seem to be more to this story.
by the way 그 ㄹ means "The d" in Korean
without a space it would be written as 글 and mean "post"
as in thanks for the post.
I would suspect the first shot was a kill shot and the rest were fired into him after he was down.
That is what they are all about — provocation. They don’t want peace.
for a Muzzie thats being a marksman
FWIW
Someone who knows these things told me the rifle in question is a Chinese M99, which also uses the .50 BMG. Such rifles are fairly common in warring areas of Africa.
