Commentary from Laura Wood at The Thinking Housewife:
Woman Nominated for Second in Command in Navy
It is becoming so obvious.
Congratulations to her. She certainly is experienced and deserves this.
Third promotion since Obama took office?
Admiral “Bull” Halsey is vomiting in his grave.
God help us.
The Chinese are expanding their blue water Navy and executing missions to the moon. We’re only interested in expanding opportunities for queers, minorities and women....
Yep let’s see, Black(check), UGLY(Check), A “Naval” “Academy” “Grad”(check). This STINKS of “Affirmative Action” all the way around.
Is there any doubt with the nuclear option now in play?
This ought to put the fear of our naval forces into the hearts and minds of our enemies.
It din’t do much here tho.
Ma’am, would you be willing to shoot civilians?
Yes sir.
You’re promoted.
Note the Somali story...she FAILED in negotiating a peaceful resolution. The SEALS ended up doing the job.
I wonder how she answered “The Question”......
I am most worried about what her actual plans are for the Navy and whether or not she will allow them to uphold their time honored standards and traditions. That is how I feel about literally anyone at this point who is allowed into the Armed Forces and promoted to certain ranks. Certainly I do not condone Affirmative Action in the Armed Forces at all, but here I consider that secondary to say, whether or not she is gonna spout some bullcrap about how “physical strength should not be the end all” and be one of those Army women who’s a career opportunist first and foremost.
Wow! Awesome that she has the preferred genitalia type de jour.
‘Hope” she’s not another Colon Powell, taking credit for the ideas of others after her ideas are overridden.
Apparently and according to the article, she's the real hero...not the snipers that took the pirates out.
Everything else is moot...
I'm not qualified to answer these questions...
That fact it is Obama who made these decisions makes her rise suspect, since everything else he does is predicated on ideology rather than competence...
I don’t know much about such things, but her bio/CV seems rather impressive. We’ll see how she does.
BTW, just out of curiosity: is the pace of her ascension through the rank exception. She went from one-star to three-star (Vice-Admiral) in just five years, and now looks to be picking up that 4th star very soon. Is that unusual, or pretty much par for the course with a successful flag rank (I think that is the term?) officer?
