Teenage parents and a grandfather were arrested this week and accused of making a toddler smoke marijuana. Mother Jessica Kelsey, 17, father George Kelsey, 18, and grandfather Don Baker, 54, all of suburban Buffalo, encouraged or helped a 23-month-old child smoke marijuana earlier this month, officials said. The baby was encouraged, helped or observed smoking from a lighted bowl December 5 in the familys Mayville apartment, according to an affidavit cited by a report in The Buffalo News. They packed the marijuana pipe, lit it for the baby and gave it to him and encouraged him to inhale...it's just unbelievable, Chautauqua County Undersheriff Charles Holder told WIVB.It is not clear how authorities became aware of the incident, but the station noted it may have been videotaped.
Disgraceful: Grandfather Don Baker, 54, did nothing to stop the baby from smoking from the bowl, authorities said The stoner trio was arrested and arraigned Friday on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. You have a 23-month-old child who's completely helpless, can't really say yes or no, wants to please their parents and grandparent, and this is what you do? Jodie Altman, Executive Director of Renaissance House told WIVB. There should be some serious consequences
unfortunately, when babies are having babies, that's what happens, she added. They are in custody in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. The toddler, along with another sibling, is in protective custody.

She’s 17 now. The baby is 23 months. She was 15 when she had it. And probably no more than 14 when she conceived it.
Willing to bet the toddler WAS exposed to cig smoke as well, prob from all 3 of em
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
GASP.. Second hand smoke.. Then I say give them the DEATH PENALTY!
I think they should be flogged before being thrown in prison
“Willing to bet the toddler WAS exposed to cig smoke as well, prob from all 3 of em”
So were my five-—virtually all kids were exposed in the 50s and 60s.
So what?
.
The only surprising part of this story is that the teen parents are apparently MARRIED. This should make it a front-page item.
Well gee what do we expect? The “medical” marijuana types have encouraged and fostered the belief that marijuana is not only harmless but actually beneficial. If this is so (which it’s NOT by a longshot) then what possible harm can there be to make a kid smoke it? They were giving him MEDICINE according to the idiots who started and encourage this movement.
I've never heard that. Do you have source/link, please?
One of my memories from my paternal grandmothers house was the pall of smoke that flowed out the front door onto the stoop when she answered the door.
Somehow all 5 of her kids and 20 of her grandkids managed to survive...
In the 50’s, my doctor and dentist, both smoked in their offices, while examining me.. Hospital rooms had ashtrays.. LOL
I agree; I was being semi-sarcastic about the knee-jerk media bias against Southerners and for the Clintons.
“I hear a Jeff Foxworthy joke coming.”
I’m thinking this has all the elements of a new reality TV series.
Or cut a hole in a binky for the joint.
Who’s suggesting that? I believe you were pointing out that all she wanted to do was share her pot and that it wasn’t like she was exposing her to second-hand smoke, as if that was worse, maybe I misunderstood.
I smoked cigs for years, but not in my cars or homes because I chose not to expose my kids to a smokey environment because I believed it to be unhealthy for them, I doubt anyone here is suggesting that it is.
But if a parent chooses to do so, then that’s their choice, I’m not suggesting the death penalty or any other capital punishment
