Conservative activists are hitting back.
More than 50 high profile conservatives signed onto a statement Wednesday responding to both House Speaker John Boehners harsh words for conservative groups earlier in the day and to the firing of the Republican Study Committees long-time executive director Paul Teller.
It is clear that the conservative movement has come under attack on Capitol Hill today, the statement reads.

Yaelle, his point is the Jews failed to read their future in advance. And many Jews were guilty of “normalcy bias”, which has been discussed here today, and it is prevalent today conditioning you and I for the same ends.
The means justify the ends is all over the place apparent.
When people start telling these idiots to go to hell in public, we might have a hope of starting, much less finishing this battle.
NOW YOU ARE TALKING.
This is a good plan. Young people will actually respect this. Everyone will see it; this will go viral.
I’d pay $1000, who else? If we all paid some member of congress to do this on cspan cameras, maybe that would help. Lol.
I would love to see nancy pelosi ripping her face lift stitches out due to an unapproved facial expression, McCain doing gymnastic feats to get across the aisle and apologize fast enough, etc, to have someone just get up there and tell it like it is. “We have left our Constitution behind. We are living under socialist tyranny! The President and all his totalitarian cabinet can go straight to Hell! I hope that they will stop by this magnificent building on their way, so they can all KISS MY ASS!” (Excuse the profanity)
ping for later
The GOP don’t get the liberals and are isolating themselves from getting any conservatives.
They are ending themselves, or at least their old guard is ending themselves IMO.
I think the legacy of misery due to failure to listen to the voices of wisdom and righteousness will indeed feature prevalently in the Kingdom of God.
Which is how it is that the Former things shall pass away, and there shall be no more tears or sorrow.
We will know the misery we have wrought upon ourselves for choosing our own way (which leads to death) rather than God's Way.
If I have any fear of what is coming - it is this: that what remains of Christian faith in this country will falter and fail because too many have bought the false doctrine that they are going to be snatched and saved from any suffering from tribulation.
They are biblically ignorant of the fact that Tribulation was to be a Christian's lot in life - and that the Great Tribulation is Satan's wrath on God's people - of whom God will allow to be tested and trampled, even to death. For we are told to 'endure' to the end - and such an admonition comes from enduring evil, misery and death with our faith intact.
Having no real experience with persecution and suffering - most of us are going to have our faith tested in ways we are not prepared. I got a firsthand taste of that lesson myself when living overseas in a third world cesspool for half a year.
If you think you are going to stand and endure with your faith inapt, the kind of misery most of our brothers and sisters in the faith endure daily in the third world - you better rethink that. You aren't. I certainly didn't.
Add living under a despotic tyranny that has visions of genocide in it's head and a people who get violent if their need for instant gratification is not met - and I can say to you all with assurance - Christians in America are not ready for what is upon us.
And as we are getting a glimpse of with the GOP attacking those of us principled Conservatives in the political sense - we are going to be betrayed and turned upon by our very own in the faith as well.
The longer most Americans continue to deceive and delude themselves, the greater the betrayals and anger from our own will be.
No I left the GOP a while back. After this thread, I’m done here. I am tired of arguing with liberals calling themselves conservatives. Plenty of other ways to help make a difference without wasting time repeating the same arguments with the same idiots.
There are many great people here. If they ever got on the same page and stopped letting the Psuedocons disrupt thread after thread with their lesser evil BS, make excuse after excuse for the GOP’s liberalism, the PDS and the rest, we would all be better for it. I just don’t intend to participate in it any more. Others are free to continue.
I think you are wrong here. There are plenty of solid conservatives who don’t use the abortion issue as an election / voting litmus test. YES, they believe in the constitution, small government, freedom. But they see the trick on the ABORTION ISSUE, even as they oppose abortion.
Libs love that issue because they have fooled most people into thinking it is some kind of necessary procedure. Thus a lot of people will look down upon anti abortion candidates. Let’s not play that game. Our candidates should just say they are against abortion but don’t wish to campaign on it and just don’t discuss it. The ultrasound machines are willing our fight, not politicians, and the debate only hurts us. It doesn’t even save a baby.
Our voters should support someone who meets their criteria on everything else and then says he or she is personally opposed to abortion and leaves it right there. Period.
A lot of us voted for Romney and I know we went very compromised to the polls but it doesn’t mean we want abortions.
“Which is how it is that the Former things shall pass away, and there shall be no more tears or sorrow.”
That actual verse has literally been framed and on my wall since 1995.
I lived in a third world slum and saw things on a scale not much different than what your relatives endured. Institutionalized persecution is bitch you cannot comprehend. None of us soft Americans can. My mind was literally short-circuiting at what I was seeing every day, the misery, the abuse, the beatings, the killing - all done under the color of law and culture.
I'm giving fair warning what is occurring to us and what our portents are if we do not wake up as a people to what has already happened to us.
Wishful thinking, happy-happy-joy-joy sentiments are not going to change it. Neither will elections from this point out. History is a brutal teacher if one wishes to be honest and understand where we are in relation to the lessons of the past.
If you are offended at the truth of what is being said here - then that is your own problem. Putting your fingers in your ears and shutting your eyes and considering it offensive that someone would dare try and warn this people that what happened 70 years ago is taking shape again right under our noses - is more than illustrative as to WHY we've lost the culture and the country.
Scripture warns us that a people become wicked while thinking themselves righteous will refuse to hear the truth and demand to hear only smooth and easy things. Such people always kill those giving a warning about what is to come if they do not wise up.
As the Proverb tells us, there is nothing new under the sun.
Thank you for the clarification. We will miss you as we miss the others that have gone. Best wishes.
It was one example of many I could have used...But:
There is not one single Romney voter on FR that was unaware of his historical association with that issue. And they voted for him knowing it. And many other GOP pols as well really. Nationally/state and even local when you get dwn to it.
Again. It’s an ugly truth that people wish to ‘compartmentalize”. But it’s still the truth. Pragmitizm over the lives of others was a conscious choice. They knew and they still pulled the lever. No way around that. Because it happened.
When Expedience trumps Principles, then the Foundations forged by those Principles collapse into ruin.
Thank you. Just to get this on record before the tide hits later tonight, You will likely see a ton of posts tonight by the people I am referring to. One already put her 2 cents in a ways back, but trust me, my ‘buddies will be around to rehash their same old proven disastrous ideas about what conservatism ‘really is’.
You may even see a pic posted of Yosemite Sam on a dragon posted as proof of how ‘wrong’ I am.
Don’t laugh. Just see my post history for an explanation.
I was thinking that since Reagan we’ve had 16 years of republican presidents and 12 years of democrats. You’d think we’d be ahead of the game. I regret my last two votes. It won’t happen again.
I was listening to Issa on Hannity a while ago and Hannity asked him what can be done about obama not following the constitution. Issa rambled on for a while about congress controlling the purse yada yada yada and never answered the question. He basically admitted there is nothing that can be done.
I think it can begin small. We have to fight Established Media with new media. Even things like photos of bumperstickers on Instagram etc that say things like “I’m a conservative - I don’t vote GOP” etc.
I definitely agree that loud Shove Off sentiments to GOP from conservatives need to be said starting today. Stop slapping on makeup and pontificating intellectually on hannity: get out there and make sound bites strong enough to appear on every other show. Swear. Can you imagine if one of these folks went on hannity and said, “All conservatives in this country are F***ed. They now officially have no representation in Washington.”
Oh but there is. They can all go home and not fund him.
They just refuse to.
And Issa, Man of a thousand go-nowhere investigations, is as big a lib as Bhoner.
Boner just gave the media their story about the Tea Party for at least the rest of the year.
To a point. Yes, my own grandfather thought, “it can’t happen here in civilized Germany” where he had a thriving factory and many stores. Yes, but the fact that lots of Jews didn’t believe anyone could treat them sub humanly is not the same as trashing those who were in dire helpless situations and didn’t fight. When you are naked, sick, hungry, and your heart has been broken by countless deaths of loved ones, you can’t be faulted for trying to be invisible and praying for the best.
Simple truth. Palin, with nothing but a Facebook page, drove the narrative for a sum total of months.
We do not NEED the msm. As such, the GOP excuses about the media ring hollow since they could have bypassed them since the late 90s. Again, they just refused to use the tools available.
I agree with everything you say except I still don’t like to fault the weak and innocent. The victims in the nazi days were extremely well disarmed. In many senses of the word. Fault them before that happened, is all. Not after they were barely skeletons.
And so glad you rose out of your slums. We need you and everyone else too. That is the whole point of this — to raise people up as Gd intended, to freedom and self reliance and love of each other.
