I think the legacy of misery due to failure to listen to the voices of wisdom and righteousness will indeed feature prevalently in the Kingdom of God.
Which is how it is that the Former things shall pass away, and there shall be no more tears or sorrow.
We will know the misery we have wrought upon ourselves for choosing our own way (which leads to death) rather than God's Way.
If I have any fear of what is coming - it is this: that what remains of Christian faith in this country will falter and fail because too many have bought the false doctrine that they are going to be snatched and saved from any suffering from tribulation.
They are biblically ignorant of the fact that Tribulation was to be a Christian's lot in life - and that the Great Tribulation is Satan's wrath on God's people - of whom God will allow to be tested and trampled, even to death. For we are told to 'endure' to the end - and such an admonition comes from enduring evil, misery and death with our faith intact.
Having no real experience with persecution and suffering - most of us are going to have our faith tested in ways we are not prepared. I got a firsthand taste of that lesson myself when living overseas in a third world cesspool for half a year.
If you think you are going to stand and endure with your faith inapt, the kind of misery most of our brothers and sisters in the faith endure daily in the third world - you better rethink that. You aren't. I certainly didn't.
Add living under a despotic tyranny that has visions of genocide in it's head and a people who get violent if their need for instant gratification is not met - and I can say to you all with assurance - Christians in America are not ready for what is upon us.
And as we are getting a glimpse of with the GOP attacking those of us principled Conservatives in the political sense - we are going to be betrayed and turned upon by our very own in the faith as well.
The longer most Americans continue to deceive and delude themselves, the greater the betrayals and anger from our own will be.
“Which is how it is that the Former things shall pass away, and there shall be no more tears or sorrow.”
That actual verse has literally been framed and on my wall since 1995.
Amen.
This is one of the reasons some will not vote at all, believing this is nothing but a spiritual war and not a political one. Rather, it is but the sure chaos that comes to all Godless nations everywhere, in every age, and which has been well modeled for us in sacred scripture.
May God have mercy on us, who shall not be spared, but for some strange reason foreign to our history, we seem to have been deprived of the will to fight standing up. Perhaps He wants us brought to our knees to stay on our knees unto true repentance.
May God be our victor soon, and let us see His mighty work on behalf of His people.
Love, Rita.
