Conservative activists are hitting back.
More than 50 high profile conservatives signed onto a statement Wednesday responding to both House Speaker John Boehners harsh words for conservative groups earlier in the day and to the firing of the Republican Study Committees long-time executive director Paul Teller.
It is clear that the conservative movement has come under attack on Capitol Hill today, the statement reads.

“So, the GOP-E’s war on Conservatives has been escalated even more. “.........
The WILL find that revenge is a bitch come next election time. Lets not let them forget WHO they were supposed to be representing.
Welcome to the club seems to get larger every day. Maybe soon there will be more of us then of them. Merry Christmas!
The comments following the Politico article are really stunning. The ignorance of the American public can never be underestimated.
You really mean you finally woke up and can smell the COFFEE! ! ! ! ! !
boehner... you are the second most hated republican amongst all Conservatives... right after mctraitor... congratulations you progressive drunk oompa loompa. BTW, how is the ganja boy doing?
Are they pro boner? If so... politico is mostly a dim party watering hole.
just try to contact boehner,
since this capitulation he’s made it nearly impossible to contact him to tell him what a piece of crap he really is.
unless you are from his district
The GOP fights its own base with far more vigor than it employs in fighting the Dims.
Mr. niteowl77
I swore I was done with this crap but...One for the road. An open statement to those who KNOW you deserve it.
We tried warning you. We showed you the very words of the Founders themselves, of Reagan, of any number of knowledgeable and respected sources.
We showed you through historical example after historical example what would happen by supporting left wing presidential/congressional candidates and their ‘lesser evil”.
We begged, pleaded, argued and fought for hours, days, weeks and months to try to get you to see reason. Many of us, including myself came to the unfortunate but realistic conclusion that you had to feel enough pain before you’d come around because contrary all your demonstrated actions and ‘logic’ to the contrary, we still had hope that you had more intelligence locked away in you locked away than the average DU idiot.
Of course the fact that your stubborn pride prevented you from admitting your grave error, as each day the GOP had Scotty hit warp 9 in the Starship Republican on the way to the left, may have something to do with it. And so here we are. It has been a Shadenfreud-like experience these past two months to watch more and more people realize they were wrong, have felt enough pain and decided to abandon the GOP that has long-since abandoned them.
All I have to say is welcome to the party y’all. Hopefully this won’t be another case of all bluff and bluster until election day, when you revert to GOP excusemaking, lesser evil excusemaking and another round of attacking those who stood up and called you on your collective stupidity.
As for me, (and perhaps the rest of us who decided to leave you to your own devices, as I can’t speak for them) having been proven 100% DEAD NUTS CORRECT is good enough for me.
Consider it my official opus.
Norm Lenhart - Done.
Keep it up GOPe this type of action will strengthen and grow the Tea Party beyond what you ever could have imagined.
What makes you think that the commentators are ‘the American public’?
Are those commentators not say a few men and a monkey working out of a garage somewhere with thirty to fifty fake accounts?
The “commentators” on all the DC-based news outlets are almost always liberal government/NGO employee-types from the Maryland-NoVA area who obsess over the TEA Party movement.
I am right there with you, Norm.
I can’t believe how many FReepers still accuse me of sitting on my hands and electing Obama, even though I voted for Romney. I have vowed that will be the last pragmatic, non-principled, strategerized vote I will ever cast.
I have personally fired the Republican’t Party. They have failed to do the job they claim on their party platform. They attack conservatives with many times more fury and frequency than they attack Democrats.
Geez, Norm. Don’t leave now. I have refused to reregister as a republican since I moved and I will not vote for any gope backed candidate unless they come on board with US because they no longer even pay lip service to me. The hell with them.
B. in his comments about “before they even saw what’s in it.’’’reminds me of the threat instituted with Obamacare. suggesting This budget deal may be as dangerous as Obamacare.
Details leaked also suggest our Congress does not trust its own leadership?
Are those commentators not say a few men and a monkey working out of a garage somewhere with thirty to fifty fake accounts?
