Fake, fake, fake!

The sign language interpreter used at Nelson Mandela's football stadium memorial was a fake, it was claimed this morning.
Braam Jordaan, a deaf South African and board member of the World Deaf Federation, said he believes the interpreter was making up signs as he went along.
"The structure of his hand, facial expressions and the body movements did not follow what the speaker was saying", Mr Jordaan said.
Mr Jordaan claimed the man, who signed for a portion of the ceremony including Barack Obama's speech, was simply making up his own signs.

Maybe the interpreter had no sign language telepromter.

Yes, but the “fake” sign language interpreter was a Negro, and that is what must be celebrated here. It would have been racist if the fake sign language interpreter had been white.
When 0bama was speaking the interpreter held is right hand to his forehead. Fingers held like a salute but pointing vertical and thumb pointing horizontal to the left. It’s obvious he didn’t understand English.
As I watched Obamas speech I too made my own hand signal.
It’s easy. Close your fist then extend only the middle finger.
Point it at the tv. My wife knew exactly what I was saying.
The gestures you’re talking about are not fake. In fact, they are well understood the world over, by deaf people as well as those with perfect hearing.

LOL! Look up Lydia Callas for some hilarious sign language parody. She grew up signing with deaf family members (she is not) & the `Mayor of New York’s Hurricane Sandy speech’ is a riot.
Remember the `Public Television’ signer in “Airplane II”?
If Sign Language was INTERNATIONAL people EVERYWHERE could Communicate with OTHER PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!
