Approval ratings for Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court are all at record lows, reflecting the publics dissatisfaction with a runaway federal government. Many are concerned about Washington D.C.s culture of corruption, entitlement programs on the path to bankruptcy, and a complicated tax code and bureaucracy which stifle both economic growth and liberty.
With this in mind, nearly one hundred state legislators from 32 different states gathered at George Washingtons home in Mount Vernon, Virginia, on Saturday. They met to discuss the possibility of a Convention of the States for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution, as described in Article V of the United States Constitution.

Special thanks to my hero, Mark Levin. He didn't get this thing started, but he sure did give it a kick in the butt!
The very last thing we would ever want to do is open up our Constitution to that pack of Marxist/Socialist power hungry vultures. We’d end up looking like Cuba!
I’m on board. Lets get this train moving.
These are state legislators discussing the procedures for a convention of states. Read up on it.
How ‘bout we just respect and enforce the Constitution we have?
“... just respect and enforce the Constitution we have...”

How’s that working out for ya’?
Does anybody know when something like this last happened?
Repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments.
Clarify the Commerce Clause to explicitly overturn Wickard v Filburn.
This will be the first time under the Constitution.
“We are already looking like 3rd world BR.”
You are exactly right. The idea that we are opening up the Constitution to the bad guys’ ideas is no threat whatsoever. The bad guys’ are at the federal level, wield enormous power, want even more money and power, and have annulled in practice any semblance of Constitutional freedoms and rule. A convention of the states brings power back down, closer to the people, than it currently is. If someone is afraid that a convention of the states would propose idiotic amendments, yes, that might happen in Calif., but getting people in 3/4 of the rest of the nation would be impossible. That would not happen even in Greece or Argentina. The runaway convention concept is intended to frighten people away from their own hopes and good. It is diagnostic of someone who is ill-informed or merely wishes Americans ill.
At this time, a majority of Americans value conservative, free, Constitutionally-guided government and many can remember or have read about the old, Constitutional Republic that was the US before 2008. This is the time to rein in the federal, socialist leviathan.
This is an “Article V Convention for Proposing Amendments”... The framework of the constitution is UNCHANGED unless the STATES propose an amendment to do so which will still have to be voted on (ratified) by 3/4 (38) states...
The 2 BIG items being discussed are term limits and a balanced budget... Recent polls indicate that 75% of Americans are on board with these 2 issues... A VERY good place to start...
Is the structure of the government a problem, or the persons inhabiting its offices?
Can the persons inhabiting those offices be trusted to modify the structure of the government?
Those advocating a CoS are promoting a dangerous idea, a very dangerous idea.
A “balanced budget amendment” could be license to unlimited taxation, the budge must be balanced after all. When has spending been at or below revenue? When has spending even decreased?
>> The bad guys are at the federal level
Democrats are at every level of government, as are Vichy Republicans.
The Uniparty - Democrats and Vichy Republicans - are the problem. They and their useful idiot supporters bought with baubles.
Some of the simple points being discussed include term limits and mandatory balanced budgets to control spending and debt.
Remember this is a convention about STATES RIGHTS and it is NOT being run by the beltway insiders. Celebrity Washington politicians and their media allies will not have much sway in controlling what individual states elect to do to preserve our liberties.
Well put - thank you.
