A ten-year-old boy has reportedly been suspended from school after he ‘fired’ an imaginary bow and arrow at another pupil.
Johnny Jones, a fifth grader at South Eastern Middle School in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, is said to have been suspended for one day after making the gesture and now faces expulsion.
According to the Rutherford Institute, which is defending the youngster, Johnny was accused of breaching the school’s regulations on using weapons, even though the bow and arrow were not real.
He was reprimanded after the girl he ‘fired’ the bow at notified a teacher.

Archery used to be taught in PE, in grade school.

Yep, nowadays we live in a politically correct world. Any mention or image of a weapon, real or imagined, is a severe offense.
A boy bit pieces out of a pop tart to make the shape of a gun, and was punished for that.
Unbelieveable world we live in.

I’d be in trouble in today’s world. We used to draw knives, swords, axes and so on on our book covers (I played a lot of Dungeons and Dragons) as well as M-16’s and so forth on the book covers. We also shoot rubber bands with our fingers shaped like a gun as well as play “war games” on a piece of paper.

Seriously, these people are nuts, and have no idea how to handle children. What's that old saying about if the only thing you have is a hammer, you think everything is a nail?
The punishment is like using a sledge hammer to swat a fly. When crap like this happens these people need to be the ones suspended, and not allowed back till they under go psychological testing.
It's happening so much, maybe a parents council should be set up to dish out a little disciplining of the teachers.
Yes, I remember times we would all go into the playground and target shoot with arrows. And sometimes we even played.... dodge ball. That’s right, we used rubber balls as WEAPONS. It was all incredibly violent, and luckily no one was traumatized.
Zero tolerance stupidity is alive and well in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania.
