A new plan to protect the sage grouse in eastern Oregon would disproportionately affect ranchers in certain designated areas. The proposal would cut grazing by about 118,000 acres in the region.

Cattle grazing reductions likely in some areas under proposal.

Some Oregon ranchers would be disproportionately harmed by grazing restrictions under a proposed plan to protect sage grouse, according to leaders of a state cattlemen’s group.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management recently offered a draft plan for managing the greater sage grouse, a candidate for federal protection under the Endangered Species Act.

Used to hunt Sage Grouse in the 70’s in western Idaho and even back then E.Oregon had a small population of grouse even though our hunting area a couple miles east of Jordan Valley(across the state line) always yielded full bag limits. The terrain and grazing usage were the same, but, it appeared that the Sage Grouse preferred to die in Idaho rather than Oregon.

As with all birds, hatcheries can produce them in whatever numbers the hatchery is paid to produce.

Any hatchery worth the name can turn out 20,000 Sage Grouse given funding, some fertile birds for startter stock, etc.

Enviro-commies are just grousing about the Sage Grouse population to justify another collectivization of land.

America needs to cull its population of collectivists.

I thought i read that a large part of the problem with Sage Grouse declines was the growth of cell towers and the planting of trees across the great plains as a result of the arbor day people. This has given Raptors a perch to search for prey that they never had before.

Just increase the hatchery contract until the Sge Grouse release and the raptor apetitive behavior balance.

PS Buy hatchery stock.

PPS Publish a cookbook for raptors.

Endangered sage grouse is a crock of crap. It’s just the feds and envirowackos trying to get control of western lands.
