Seeking to increase pressure on McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other fast-food restaurants, organizers of a movement demanding a $15-an-hour wage for fast-food workers say they will sponsor one-day strikes in 100 cities on Thursday and protest activities in 100 additional cities.

One day strike by people who can be replaced in two hours? Great strategy.

And the day of the automated fast-food joint creeps yet nearer.

I don’t care how lousy the economy is; fast-food counter jobs are NOT a career, and should not be expected to provide a so-called “living wage”.

Was there ever a time when a person could “make a living” working as a fast-food clerk?

Even in times when they had actual dress codes to work there?

The people doing the striking will not be Fast Food worker, they will be Union paid Goons . It’s the Unions wanting to control the fast Food business that are pushing this.

Ona related subject.

I drove past Walmarts yesterday (Sunday) about 3pm and in spite of MSNBC+progressive activist demonization of Walwarts leading up to Thanksgiving and this past weekend the parking lot was full, and its a huge parking lot.

It appears to be the “organizers” of the “movement” who are “striking,” not actual fast-food employees. Like the “strike” at Walmarts on Black Friday. (I assume that completely fizzled, just like last year.)

What a strategy for a nation filled with highly-educated illiterates: price the last of the jobs out of existence.

If fast food becomes too pricey, people will go back to making meals at home - duh!

I wouldn’t be surprised, but that’ll just hasten automation even more. Fast food only just supports the pocket-money wages of local teens. It’s not even close to being able to support union wages. No-skill workers demanding $20+ an hour are going to find they’re very easily replaceable by machines at that cost; I shudder to think of how crappy and slow service would get at a fast-food joint if it was staffed with union goons.

Are they going to chant...

“we Demand $10 hamburgers!”

because that’s what they are really pushing for.

the unions want a pay raise- if these workers get
an increase- ALL UNIONS will have their base salaries go up!!

(I find it ironic that one of the FIRST businesses to
get an O’Bummercare exemption WAS MCDonalds)- they went
out of their way to support O’bummer- -remember ALL the
Snewz stories of them hiring 50,000 workers ?!— the
economy is GREAT under dear leader!)

I get the impression that the people actually working in these establishments are not the people picketing. The strikers are paid union goons.

Prove that you can make it work, Paul.

And just IMAGINE the moaning and wailing when the first automated store rolls out, and conversion begins wholesale. . .

I had a conversation with a lib regarding the minimum wage pretty recently...

it seems that there is no thought given to the ability of the worker to contribute to the business determining what they should be paid,

it’s all a matter of what they “need to live on”.

They’ll often deny “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” because they recognize the communist origins of that philosophy,
but they’ll have it as an assumption behind their arguments.
