RUSH LIMBAUGH SCORCHES POPE FRANCIS
WorldNetDaily ^ | 11/27/2013 | KATHY SHAIDLE

Posted on 11/27/2013 7:05:43 PM PST by SeekAndFind

Radio giant Rush Limbaugh is scorching the leader of the Roman Catholic Church for criticizing unfettered capitalism, saying, “This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the pope.”

“You know the pope, Pope Francis has issued an official papal proclamation, and it’s sad,” Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday. “It’s actually unbelievable. It’s sad because this pope makes it very clear he doesn’t know what he’s talking about when it comes to capitalism and socialism and so forth.”

“I’m not Catholic,” Limbaugh added, “but up until this I admired the man.”

In the 84-page document titled “Evangelii Gaudium,” which was released Tuesday, Pope Francis called upon politicians to provide “dignified work, education and health care” to all citizens.

“The commandment ‘Thou shalt not kill’ sets a clear limit in order to safeguard the value of human life,” wrote the pope. “Today we also have to say ‘thou shalt not’ to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills.”

Noting that he had visited the Vatican “numerous times,” Limbaugh observed wryly: “Believe me, it wouldn’t exist without tons of money. Somebody has either written this for [the pope] or gotten to him. This is pure Marxism.”

This is mostly about evangelization. Not much of it is on economics — but that’s what the lamestream media pounced on. Don’t believe them. (Including Rush — who did not do a good job of researching this document.)

You’re so right. It always takes a few days to shake out exactly what the fundamental message from the Holy Father was. The western media has “unfettered” play days with it until the English translation arrives.

This is no wordsmith, no political sophisticate at the helm, here. Francis obviously has interacted with the broken hearted poor more than a time or two. Few of us have had such exposure, and THAT is the problem.

Ummm....the Vatican’s English translation arrived before the media announcements.

Sure does a lot of assuming regards what others may think.

Where do these thought patterns come from?

Obama displays something of a Peronist, corporatist ideology, which, again, was created and spread by old Soviet intelligence agencies as disinformation intended to destroy Western capitalism—and the Catholic church.

No rational person really believes in “unfettered capitalism”.

The Pope was the one railing against "Unfettered Capitalism," Rush rightly pointed out it did not exist anywhere today.

PS all Isms have the same ultimate goal, the subservience of the people, and the creation of an "Elite Class," who will rule over the sheep.

It is easier to find fault if you just make stuff up, so continue on.

No, you hit the daily double of being ignorant and arraogant simulataneously. I’m often guilty of the latter, but never the former….so bring it….

Not all. Impressionism didn’t make Van Gogh a ruler over the sheep.

Quit trying to make yourself look smart by slicing up fine points that are beyond the general point Rush was making…which is the Pope is ignorant about what free markets are, and that he’s a statist. Marxist, socialist, communists, etc, must be dilineated in some disucssions, but not in a general one such as this.

Yes, at least in the mind of Peron, who always denied he was a communist. In fact, he claimed that communism (and even socialism) was like vinegar, a condiment. In small doses vinegar enhances the favor of a salad but too much ruins the taste, and no one can drink vinegar straight. Of course, this claim came late in Peron’s life after the center of politics had shifted radically leftward.

Of that I have no doubt. Obama is a corporatist, which of course makes him more of a fascist than a socialist.

I’m only down to post 165, but you’ve made two oustanding replies to the arrogant nitpicking fool RC. And that’s what he is….in the context of Rush’ show, which is not one of academic precision but is one of brilliant communication of big ideas and generalities, Rush is 100% right on this.

“They’re ‘commonwealths’”

That is an acknowledgement that certain aspects of government activity are for the benefit of all citizens, not that they are socialist.

Weal is the root word, not wealth, as in money/assets.

The concept that government should exist and treat all citizens equally is the idea (and a noble one), not that all citizens wealth should be shared by the government, which is one form of tyranny.
