The Disastrous Launch Of Obamacare Has Caused A Remarkable Collapse In Democratic Poll Numbers

The political gains that Democrats made on the generic congressional ballot as a result of the federal government shutdown continue to collapse, as a new CNN/ORC poll shows Republicans re-taking the lead on the generic congressional ballot.

Less than a year ahead of the all-important 2014 midterm elections, Republicans now lead Democrats by a 49-47 edge on the ballot, in which pollsters ask respondents if they'd choose a Republican or Democrat without mentioning specific candidates.

That's a remarkable shift from just a month ago — when Democrats held a formidable 50-42 advantage as Republicans were getting blamed for the shutdown. But after the shutdown ended, coverage began piling up with the problems of the Affordable Care Act's rollout, featuring a dysfunctional website and piling-up concerns about plan cancellations .

Independents now by and large prefer a generic GOP candidate on the congressional ballot, by a 53-36 margin.

The poll follows similar stunning reversals in Quinnipiac and Fox News polls over the past two weeks. The Quinnipiac shift was 9 points over a month, while the Fox News poll swing amount to a stunning 11 points over three weeks.

According to the Real Clear Politics average, Republicans now hold a 1-point advantage in the generic congressional ballot — something that seemed unthinkable just a month ago, when Democrats held an average 6.6-point lead.

Good news. But remember, in politics 1 year, as in from now until the mid-terms, can be an eternity. Especially when dealing with lo-info attention deficient 0 sycophants.

Lieberalism exposed is liberalism defeated.

They know it, too.

A democrat is someone who will trade their freedom for free stuff.

A liberal democrat is someone who thinks they are trading someone elses freedom for free stuff.

Not enough in my opinion.

It is an absolute unmitigated mess and still many approve. Maybe the lure of free stuff is too difficult to overcome.

They will trade someone else’s freedom for free stuff for yet someone else,

with the goal of feeling good about themselves as “good people”.

Apparently the tactic of pushing back the 0bamacare deadlines is not working.

It is NOT “shameful” to take joy in the defeat of evil.

It’s not the launch - it’s the lies... so blatant, so manipulative that even democrats ‘get it’....

When someone tells a whopper, over and over, and covers it with more highly transparent whoppers...

... then most folks (just from experience) suspect that this person (and everything he or she has claimed previously) cannot be trusted.

Importantly, if others pitch in to support the liar (think congressional Dems and "news" media)...

...THEY are choosing to associate with the liar over you. This is insulting and degrading, of course, far from convincing you, it puts you on "liar" defense.

Everyone is suspicious of a liar, and their lying pals.

Nobody likes being lied to.

"The Disastrous Launch Of Obamacare Has Caused A Remarkable Collapse In Democratic Poll Numbers..."

.... Don't get too excited and break out that champagne yet .... cuz ... unlike the Republicans .... the Democrats have a Wonderful Magical Mystery P.R. machine set in place to handle just such setbacks. All they have to do is censor the media and get their own talking points out there demonizing and blaming the GOP and Conservatives for all things bad and evil .... and ... VOILA!!!!..... Poll numbers are back up in time for the Mid Term.

Why even bother doing popularity polls now? There is nothing we can do about it, we are stuck with the majority DIM-dumbbell decision for now. Obama and Valery likely don’t give a hoot in hades what ‘the American people say they think’, they never have, or Holder would have long been gone. These polls don’t make or unmake my day. I guess reporters got to report.
