Moscow — No more mosques will be built in Moscow, despite the huge crowds that swamp the city's four public mosques on Muslim holidays, because they are mainly used by temporary workers, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has decided.
In an interview with the daily Komsomolskaya Pravda on Wednesday, Mr. Sobyanin said that Moscow has about two million foreign residents, the vast bulk of them migrant workers from former Soviet Central Asia who are mainly Muslim. The city's economy "could not manage without them," he admitted.
But he insisted that the vast throngs of Muslims who fill Moscow streets and wait, often for many hours, to enter the city's few existing mosques are mostly people who come from outside the city limits and therefore have no right to be catered to.

I doubt they’re doing a better job than the U.S. In that regard right now. Russia has pretty much been the primary arms supplier to many of the Middle Eastenr countries for some time now. Its big $$$$ for them.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that WE have a 100% failure rate when it comes to preventing any country from developing nukes.

Well, four years later whose Nazis who survived had to learn Russian.
And I’m yet to see nukes built by Iran with Russian assistance. IMO, if not for the Russian “help” they could have their nukes at least five years ago.
IMO, Russians has much better taste in islamonazis than US. Always had.
They are always backing (to some degree) secular or Shia elements who aren’t actually famous for some extraordinary terrorist activity against the West.
Last time I’ve check it wasn’t Syrians or Iranians who bombed USS Cole or did 9/11.
AFAIK it was Al-Qaeda - a military arm of Sunni islam rooting from Saudi Arabia considered a major US ally in the region.
Chechens who murdered Russian children and bombed their airliners are Sunni too.
And Sunni Pakistan has it’s nukes - thanks to US assistance.
Sunni and Shia are bitter enemies like Nazis and Commies at the time.
With McCain and Obama doing their best to assist Al-Qaeda it might make sense for Russia to back the least of two evils, just for a ballance?
