Poll: If voters had known they’d lose insurance, Romney would have won

If voters had been aware last year that they might lose their health-care plans when Obamacare went into effect, Republican President Mitt Romney would be sitting in the White House today, according to a poll released Friday.

A Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research survey conducted from Nov. 18-20 asked voters who supported President Barack Obama in 2012: “As you may know, millions of Americans have lost their insurance plans despite President Obama’s promise that, quote, ‘if you like your plan, you can keep it.’ If you knew in 2012 that this promise was not true, would you still have voted for Barack Obama?”

In response, 23 percent said they would not have voted to re-elect Obama, while 72 percent said they would still have voted for him. The largest number of defections were among female voters ages 18-54, 31 percent of whom said they would not have supported the president.

An ABC/Washington Post poll released earlier this week found that if they had a do-over, Romney would win 49 percent to 45 percent. The difference is within the margin of error of 3.5 percentage points, but Obama polls a lower percentage of the vote today than he did in November 2012.

It would have been a delaying and deliberate instead of the rush to throw it untested or enplaned.. a completely different animal.

And these were all available before the election so no excuse

And yet the two worst Socialized Medicine components of RomneyCare he has always been steadfast about keeping as part of any plan he implemented:

1. Individual Mandate (Fancy lying words for telling you the Government was going to force you to buy something you may not want to or face a fine, and if you didn't pay the fine, go to jail)
2. Taxing you to pay for someone elses healthcare.

Yup, you got that right, there was no excuse for Romney to keep pushing an anti-free market exercise in Socialized Medicine on the American people and especially on his party that has always been against socialism in any form at any level whether Federal, State or local.

Whatever the excuse, if 4 MILLION conservatives had not stayed home and would have voted for the conservative against Dr. O we would not be in this mess.

If the last two GOP presidential candidates actually played to win they might have won.

If there was any considerable difference between the GOP candidates they might get more conservative support.

If the democrats didn’t have 120% voter turn out in many precincts we might have had a chance. If the GOP actually investigated/prosecuted election fraud they might one day win.

You make a point. Romney probably have pushed amnesty before healthcare. But in the end he is still a ruling Class northeast liberal.

The fact is many more people identify themselves as conservatives than liberals. Republicans are doing very well at the state level. But at the federal level, where Rove and the Ruling Class are in control, they can't win. Back when the GOP was the party of ideas, they couldn't lose. Now at the federal level, they are the party of Big Government and Big Business.

Voters were given a clear choice last November. They coyld vote for the liberal, big government loving, anti gun rights, pro abortion architect of the new health care law... Or they could have voted for obama.

That’s the whole lie of “liberalism”, in a nutshell -

that “someone else” will be hurt, not you.

Romney chose not to fight, except against conservatives, the base of his party, in an ill-conceived attempt at getting moderates to vote for him. He purposefully took the approach of thumbing conservatives in the eye, in effect telling them that "where-else are you going to go".

Right on the money, Soconpubbie. And I'd even question "moderates" as the lower limits of his targeting. He was going all the way to the cesspool of liberal-light, and that's why he wouldn't run against ObamaCare, and, in my opinion, why he backed down on Benghazi and foreign policy. He kissed the collective ring of the major media with that kowtow, and in so doing threw away the only end-of-the-campaign issue that could have vaulted him into the lead.

Romney INTENDED to disrespect social, religious conservatives. He told them he didn't want them with all clarity and in no uncertain terms.
