November 18, 2013. (Romereports.com) During his daily morning Mass at the Vatican, the Pope talked about the dangers of secularism. He talked about the subtle ways in which Christians begin to negotiate their values and faith.
The desire to be like everyone else, said the Pope, often leads to 'adolescent progressivism.' The Pope said this can lead to 'human sacrifices' that are even protected by laws. The Vatican's new Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, also attended the Mass.
POPE FRANCIS
God is faithful with His people, even though His people are not faithful. With a spirit of children, may the Church pray to the Lord, so that through His goodness and His faithfulness, He will saves us from this worldly spirit that negotiates everything. May He protect us and help us to move forward, just as His people did in the desert, as He took them by the hand, just like a father with a son. With the Lord's hand, we will walk safely.
Pope Francis also added that the spirit of the world, where anything can be negotiated triggers a so called 'globalized uniformity.'
And with a reference to the 20th century novel Lord of the World that focuses on the spirit of worldliness that leads to apostasy, Pope Francis warned against the desire to be like everyone else and what he called an adolescent progressivism. What do you think? he said bitterly that today human sacrifices are not made? Many, many people make human sacrifices and there are laws that protect them.

I like that, but I think that Pelosi and those like her will think he is referring to us on the right, not the apostate of the Church.
Following the same warning pronounced by his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI
How many winds of doctrine have we known in recent decades, how many ideological currents, how many ways of thinking. The small boat of the thought of many Christians has often been tossed about by these waves - flung from one extreme to another: from Marxism to liberalism, even to libertinism; from collectivism to radical individualism; from atheism to a vague religious mysticism; from agnosticism to syncretism and so forth. Every day new sects spring up, and what St Paul says about human deception and the trickery that strives to entice people into error (cf. Eph 4: 14) comes true.

Catholic ping!
He is right—Abortion is as bad as the killing of babies to Moloch. They pagans killed babies for good luck and in the mistaken belief they were feeding a god—Today babies are killed so young people need not raise children —a selfish reason. In some ways worse than the ancients in their ignorance.
Sounds like it is still for good luck and to feed the gods of hedonism, self-gratification, and irresponsibility.

I was thinking about abortion too, but it could also apply to dictators who slaughter millions in hopes of achieving earthly paradises - Nazi Germany and Pol Pot’s Cambodia in particular spring to mind.
Leviticus 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
