Calling all average-looking women.
Thats the appeal reportedly being made by an Army unit examining how to introduce women to combat roles. According to a report in Politico, one specialist recently voiced concern that too many pretty women are being used in promotional material giving an inaccurate picture, the colonel claimed, about the nature of the job.
Col. Lynette Arnhart, in an email to colleagues, asked for photos of plainer Janes to be used.
There is a general tendency to select nice looking women when we select a photo to go with an article, the email said, according to Politico. It might behoove us to select more average looking women for our comms strategy.
But Arnhart apparently went further, making some generalizations that have generated controversy.
She reportedly wrote that in general, ugly women are perceived as competent while pretty women are perceived as having used their looks to get ahead.

Maybe they should use super-hot Israeli like babes. (I’m a girl, but just my 2 cents.)

If you really want to win a war before it even starts, just put out PR material and ads indicating that every female in the U.S. military looks like Idi Amin.

There is an Army organization deciding who is too pretty for literature?
and yet they want to cut their pay?

They need to look good without makeup. Probably won’t have time for that in a combat zone.

My team years ago had a WAC in it. She had buck teeth so bad she could eat corn-on-the-cob through a snow fence.

Dumbass Democrat would be angry regardless of what the Army Colonel said. They just hate the military unconditionally.

They don't want to use anorexic supermodels for their ads depicting "grunts" crawling through the mud?
