I have told all my friends they don't have to register to vote or answer intrusive questions about their sex lives or whether or not they own guns. This is a new twist. No medical care if you don't answer the questions? I know many doctors and doctor groups are planning on opening concierge type medical practices. I suspect, if given the power, Obama will outlaw private medicine entirely. Any thoughts?

Hillarycare had just such a prohibition.
It’s one reason it didn’t pass.

They learned from that.

Just like with ENDA with religious exceptions, they pass a law with provisions that address egregious aspects of the law, with a wink and a nod that these provisions will be “modified” after passage.

Yes, eventually they’ll have to address the ways that people “escape” from their net.

Lie...or if you have moral qualms about doing so, move your guns out to vehicle before you you go to the Clinic then you can honestly answer you have no guns in your “house”....

“Not to my knowledge” is almost always a legally defensible answer. “F*** You!” Is also appropriate.

I visited my Physician just the other day. No such question was asked. However, I am on Medicare and I wonder if that was the reason.

That is starting to show up on new doctor forms. Answer is always NO, I'm sure GOD will forgive that tiny white lie.

And I'm not drinking the gop koolaide this time around! NO MORE RINOS.

My doctor does not make hospital visits, you are at the mercy of the ER doc and whatever in house doc that is available.

They cannot do that.

However, Chicago style thuggery via the IRS is far more effective.

If there was ever any question as to whether the failure of this rollout was due to incompetence or design, It will become quite evident when these new cash only clinics are targeted. Surely they have anticipated this move by the free market, and already know what they will do about it.

Let’s not forget that the Republican leadership helped pass the law and refused to defund it.

I wonder if there are two possible probs w/answering “no” to this question, if you do actually have them:

1) If they cross ref w/your state information, such as registration or CC permits, will it be used to deny converage because you lied on your app? Remeber, part of nazi care is increased record keeping.

2) Govt will use the data, as a minimum, for statistical purposes. If stats show 99% of folks don’t have guns in their home, tyrants will use it as an excuse to put gun control legislation forward, because it’ll “only impact” a small segment of the population.

If I am ever asked this I will answer “none of your f’n business” and file the appropriate lawsuit depending on what happens next.

Take a copy of this with you and give it to them when they ask:

‘‘(1) WELLNESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS.—A wellness and health promotion activity implemented under subsection (a)(1)(D) may not require the disclosure or collection of any information relating to—

‘‘(A) the presence or storage of a lawfully-possessed firearm or ammunition in the residence or on the property of an individual; or
‘‘(B) the lawful use, possession, or storage of a firearm or ammunition by an individual.

‘‘(2) LIMITATION ON DATA COLLECTION.—None of the authorities provided to the Secretary under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by that Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used for the collection of any information relating to—

‘‘(A) the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition;

‘‘(B) the lawful use of a firearm or ammunition; or

‘‘(C) the lawful storage of a firearm or ammunition.

My regular doctor asked the gun question(s). “None of your damn business” is an appropriate answer.
I asked my VA doc if she was going to ax me about firearms. She said “No, I know all you guys have them.”

This is why I advise gun owners to never, ever, take all their guns and ammunition with them when they go fishing in a rowboat. One little mistake and you could lose all that stuff, and have to tell people that you don’t have either.

And don’t take your bag lunch with you as well. Your tofu, eggplant and sprouts on whole wheat sandwich could get sodden and lose its “joie de vivre”.

If you’re a vet, just say no! As we learned in basic, its a “weapon” not a “gun”. Problem solved.
