North Texas Drivers Stopped at Roadblock Asked for Saliva, Blood
NBCDFW ^ | November 19, 2013 | Scott Gordon

Some drivers along a busy Fort Worth street on Friday were stopped at police roadblock and directed into a parking lot, where they were asked by federal contractors for samples of their breath, saliva and even blood.

It was part of a government research study aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers.

"It just doesn't seem right that you can be forced off the road when you're not doing anything wrong," said Kim Cope, who said she was on her lunch break when she was forced to pull over at the roadblock on Beach Street in North Fort Worth

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is spending $7.9 million on the survey over three years, said participation was "100 percent voluntary" and anonymous.

But Cope said it didn't feel voluntary to her -- despite signs saying it was. "I gestured to the guy in front that I just wanted to go straight, but he wouldn't let me and forced me into a parking spot," she said

-snip-

An agency spokeswoman sent an email confirming the government is conducting the surveys in 30 cities across the country in an effort to reduce impaired-driving accidents.

Nobody wants to admit to institutional tyranny that spans the parties.

Democrat, Republican, doesn’t matter. The State is an entity of it’s own with a life and will of it’s own.

That is an interesting photograph, because it was Photoshopped by somebody for the department, in order to SMUDGE and MAKE LESS VISIBLE

all the bullet holes in the right side of that truck's window.

An earlier version of that photo, *not* Photoshopped:

You can actually see in the un-re-touched, earlier photograph, that it's easier to observe THE POLICE OFFICERS UTTLER CARE-LESS-NESS AND CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE AS THEY TRIED TO KILL EVERYBODY IN THAT TRUCK!

The police were not just trying to kill Dorner, the perp, rather, the police were gunning to shoot almost anybody!

The police involved, should be dismissed without pay, no benefits, and charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER.

Where’s the governor? Why hasn’t he called out the state guard or the Texas Rangers to remove these federal fascists?

This is a poke in the eye of Texas. Texans best learn how to poke back or expect more federal abuse and intrusions. I’ve seen my local sheriff act with more grit and determination against federal fascists than this example in Texas.

No, it was a government research study to see how many people would willingly submit to a violation of their rights. In Texas no less.

Honestly all the crap going in in Texas lately is not lending any credibility to “don’t mess with Texas” We don’t have any of that junk going on in GA that I’m aware of. I’ll stay here thanks. :-)

Governor in Texas doesn't have that kind of power on his own. The position of Governor is very weak in Texas.

Call and write.

Freeping Kay Granger didn't even have a 'civil rights' category on her web page. I mentioned that to her, too.

Tell them to “*uck off”

Get name of PD conducting stops (badge Number, patrol car
numbers) using your cell camera

Photgraph the contractors doing the testing

Give them the finger as you leave.....

Find a lawyer and sue the hell of everyone involved for
violating rights with illegal stop and search......

From Iced Earth's song "Valley Forge":

Would he look upon us now in anger and disgust?
His providence, our birthright and our creed
Will we let ignorance and laziness bring our demise?
Complacency, we're blinded by our greed

NHTSA in using off-duty officers.

Yup, Off Duty, as in NOPE, WE WUZZN'T THERE.

Just like "off duty" cops watch strip clubs.

Thanks for the info, JRandomFreeper. The question then is this: Who or what in Texas has the power to confront federal fascists who are violating the rights of Texas citizens?

We don’t need another Waco in Texas while the governor sits on her fat butt and does nothing while federal fascist goons murder women, children and babies.

“It’s Texas. I hope Ted Cruz and/or Rick Perry are on this INSTANTLY.”

It will be Attorney General Gregg Abbott who, I’m sure, the instant he found this out, loaded his legal documents guns (Johnny, I mean the real definition of guns as in cannons), and is running his wheelchair straight into the legal fray.

I don’t think the feds would have notified our Texas leaders before they did this or it wouldn’t have happened. I’ll get a letter off to Abbott for sure. Check his website tomorrow and see if he has anything on there about this happening. Tonight might be too soon for something to be on there.

Damn, this is Fort Worth, Johnny, your stomping ground. You know some cops, maybe they know something, have heard something, about this going down.

If the pretext for this gross violation of civil rights is for determining if folks were intoxicated, then why not a breathalyzer or field sobriety test? Oh, that’s right, Uncle Fed has a DNA database to fill. Run afoul of the regime? Be prepared for your DNA to appear at a crime scene near you.

“The enemy probing, just hoping they can intimidate someone into resisting so they can make an example.”

It’s already been done, RS_Rider. The fat-boy SEIU thugs tried to intimidate a tea party meeting in South Carolina. They were chased into a building where they cried their little girl eyes out, begging for the cops to come rescue them. The local cops, laughing their butts off, escorted the Obuma thugs to their union bus.
