Pit bull likely ate owner's hands

Two days after a dog bit off a woman's hand and her other arm, sources said her hands were likely eaten. And police said they had been to her home in the past for problems with the same dog.

Wilton's animal control officer had been called to the home of 65-year-old Anne Murray twice, both times on complaints that the pit bull had roamed off the property, police Lt. Don Wakeman said Wednesday.

Police have also come to Murray's home several times to arrest her 26-year-old son, Ian, according to state court records. Ian Murray was given a five-year suspended sentence after he was found guilty of a 2005 robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He was also found guilty of violating his probation in 2010 in connection with that case.

On Monday morning, a town police officer shot and killed the dog in the driveway of the home after it attacked Anne Murray.

Wakeman declined to comment on whether the 2-year-old pit bull, Tuxedo, had eaten the victim's limbs, but another law enforcement source said that most of the flesh and bone the animal ripped from the victim was not recovered at the scene. "Use your imagination as to what happened,'' the source said.

Murray lost all of one arm and the other up to the elbow in the attack, and suffered bite wounds all over her body, police said. Passing motorists saw the dog in the street and stopped to call 911. Murray was found under a car in her driveway, trying to shield herself from further attack.

Murray is recovering from her injuries at Norwalk Hospital, where her son, Matthew Murray, said Tuesday night that she was awake and hopeful of a full recovery.

These people are ignorant. Most are stupid too. An ugly unteachable rabble.

Yep
Eaker, I had just been thinking how it is impossible to force a person out of their ignorance.

We've seen the same evidence over the years here.

They won’t go near her food bowl, or try and lay on the bed, that’s HER territory, lol.

Funny that people think this is so cute. Big dogs aren't afraid of little dogs they are being polite. Kind of like when a kid in a restaurant is ruining everyone's meal you don't tear their head off even though you both know you could.

Keep an eye on the big dogs as they age because one day one may be in a bad mood then it won't be so cute.

I have offered my address to a few of these tough guys so they can come by and kill my pit but they never show up.

It was in Campbell CA. Closed long ago - probably too expensive to insure.

She can’t have a “full recovery” without one arm and the other arm gone up to the elbow.

How could a two year old pit bull do that much damage? It isn’t that easy I don’t think for a dog to chew off an arm. Yuk.

Chihuahuas and Pomeranians are biting machines and every Dachshund I’ve been around had a nasty disposition.

I have a Yorkie and she kisses everybody. She was around a Dachshund across the street, both of them on leashes and my Yorkie made herself totally flat on the ground and was shaking. The Dachshund was lunging forward, then backing off and lunging again. I knew my Yorkie knew more about what was happening in the dog world than I did, so I picked her up and she won’t be around that freaking dog again.

Lol, dog’s don’t have manners.

My English Bulldog is 13 and half blind, and he won’t mess with Daisy.

She rules the roost.

Funny people think they know everything about animals.

Each one is an individual.

.
One of my sons has a pit bull that is about 2 years old.

He is unbelievably strong, and can chew through car tires. Its a good thing that the dog is good natured.

Not true. I guarantee that a 100 pound Chihuahua, no matter who trained it, would be the meanest creature on the face of the planet, killing anyone which came near it’s home or yard.
Those dogs are vicious, and I ain’t joking. I’m just glad they weight only 3 pounds.

They ARE nasty little dogs. Never met one I liked.
I think they are ugly too with those pop-eyes.

So true. They get cranky and it ISN'T cute at all.
I guess it's God's plan that the big dogs DON'T live long.
