WH tries to give Dems a fig leaf on canceled plans. Vulnerable centrists still unsatisfied; insurers angry. Did Obama accomplish anything?
good one!!
He has just rewritten The Law of The Land by executive fiat. Its a brilliant move by obbbama, whether we want to admit it or not. Hes thrown the entire fiasco right back into the insurance companies laps. If the companies dont reinstate the policies, he can point his finger at them and say,,,see what meanies they are!!! And if the GOP criticizes what he is now doing, he can say,,,see? they didnt really care that you lost your policies! Been doing some quick surfing, and libs are absolutely ecstatic about his speech, saying that he has pulled victory from the jaws of defeat. And by postponing cancellations until after the elections, he’s taking a lot of pressure off donks. The Teflon Preezy may have slipped away again.

Here’s The Letter Detailing How The Obama Administration Wants To ‘Fix’ Obamacare http://read.bi/1bxJ61V
The letter, from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, specifies that insurance policies must have been in existence as of Oct. 1, 2013. It encourages state agencies “responsible for enforcing the specified market reforms” to take action to allow plans to continue into 2014.
Insurers have already expressed concern about how the “fix” will affect premiums. Karen Ignagni, president of America’s Health Insurance Plans, released a statement warning that fewer young people and at-risk individuals could now opt not to purchase coverage in the exchanges, causing premiums to rise and offering consumers fewer choices.
“Though this transitional policy was not anticipated by health insurance issuers when setting rates for 2014, the risk corridor program should help ameliorate unanticipated changes in premium revenue,” read the letter, which was signed by Gary Cohen, the director for the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight.
Dems all rushing to TV Cameras to say:
Republican Obsession with defunding or Overturning ACA is to blame for this!!
They are truly crazy!
That’s what this was all about....setting up Republicans. Lots of talking points coming in the next few days.
They have no real concern for the unwashed (in their eyes) masses, just lots of fake clintonian sap.
January 1, 2014, and any corresponding portions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code (Code):
Section 2701 (relating to fair health insurance premiums);
Section 2702 (relating to guaranteed availability of coverage);
Section 2703 (relating to guaranteed renewability of coverage);
Section 2704 (relating to the prohibition of pre-existing condition exclusions or other discrimination based on health status), with respect to adults, except with respect to group coverage;
Section 2705 (relating to the prohibition of discrimination against individual participants and beneficiaries based on health status), except with respect to group coverage;
3
Section 2706 (relating to non-discrimination in health care);
Section 2707 (relating to comprehensive health insurance coverage);
Section 2709, as codified at 42 U.S.C. § 300gg-8 (relating to coverage for individuals participating in approved clinical trials). The specified conditions are the following:

State agencies responsible for enforcing the specified market reforms are encouraged to adopt the same transitional policy with respect to this coverage. Though this transitional policy was not anticipated by health insurance issuers when setting rates for 2014, the risk corridor program should help ameliorate unanticipated changes in premium revenue. We intend to explore ways to modify the risk corridor program final rules to provide additional assistance.
Sincerely,
/Signed, GC,

I know I have been scrambling and wondering whether I should try to get a union job mopping floors somewhere. I am more than half-serious.
The thought of working a union or government job really isn’t my thing.
No gain for obama and democrats at all because in the end there will be much higher premiums and by law that money you had set aside for vacation or food will have to go for insurance instead. Taking the money out of the market destroys the market and we are losing tons of full time jobs.
It will all get worse and this cancer needs to get removed.
“They are truly crazy!”
YES, they are!
“And he has increased our rice allowance to 20 grams per week.”
But since king barrack hussein rules by decree, it will soon be, “If you like your 20 grams of rice per week, you can keep your 20 grams of rice per week.”
And for added emphasis, he’ll say, “Period!”
Then next week he’ll clarify with, “What I said was...”
These things always end badly for the serfs.
Lets face it-the guy is an idiot."
Without a doubt! Also, did he appear to be extremely stoned...er, in a stupor<\s> um, relaxed. .
