Tuesday afternoon on The Laura Ingraham Show, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a swing at her former running mate, Sen. John McCain, after he likened the tea party movement to hobbits from the Lord of the Rings series.
Though host Laura Ingraham referred to McCains words as recent, they were actually from a House speech in 2011, after that years debt ceiling crisis. Republicans who failed to raise the debt ceiling could escape all the blame, and the tea party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor, the senator mocked. This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine ODonnell into GOP Senate nominees.
Im a hobbit then, Palin retorted Tuesday. Im a proud hobbit then.
The tea party movement, its not a party, she continued. If the GOP machine continues to try to marginalize that tea party patriot, who is doing all the hard work to get Republicans re-elected, then the establishment will go the way of the Whigs.
Palin warned that such rhetoric could cause an even greater surge in grassroots outrage towards the mainstream Republican Party.
The establishment within the major political parties in our nation, the self-proclaimed best and brightest, have been calling the shots for far too long, she concluded, and theyve gotten us into the problems that were facing today.

Hobbits bow to no-one.
Time for the Scouring of the Shire.
The Desolation of Ubama!
McCain did select Sarah as his Vice Presidential nominee. That earned him a large amount of good will, from team Palin.
I’m just glad she finally put a small bit of space between the two of them.
Palin has not done that before, that I am aware of.
bump
good one
I have a sailboat I named “The Hobbit”. Bring. It. On.
I agree with the comment upthread: time for a scouring of the shire.
McCain has a very weak vocabulary when confronting Republicans who have core values that are good for America.
McCain thus reverts to his grade-school days and uses the jargon that was obviously used against him.
McCain’s handlers picked an opposite to McCain to be his veep nominee.
Always eager to avoid making his handlers upset, McCain agreed, IMHO.
McCain cannot answer the following question, but Palin can:
“If Obamas Socialized Health Insurance Tax, (OSHIT), has little or no chance of financial success in 5 years, then why do Federal politicians in both political parties try to fix or replace instead of ABOLISH Obamacare?”
We need a Hobbit Party! Let the GOP die its much overdue death.
I’m telling you, if she was a Hobbit, the Orcs would have changed sides.
Thanks for the ping!
We don’t need Hobbits.
We need an Aragorn, and a Mithrandir.
Sam Couldn't Carry the Ring for Frodo,
But he could Carry Him!

Aragorn and Gandalf didn't destroy the Ring.
The Smallest of us change the course of the future.
Agreed. She has a long way to go to make up for endorsing that turd. I hope she dumps on him at every opportunity.
The Temptation would have been to great for them.
Better to be a Hobbit than a RINO.
:-)
