I know we have several Freepers that live in the Philippines but for the life of me I can't recall their screen names. Anybody heard from those guys and how they're doing?
Praying that all is well with them.

If your family had no food, and you’re armed, how far would you go to feed them?
When our basic needs are threatened, we become just like any other animal. It’s just that some didn’t need starvation to get them to that point.

Quark: Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes.

My question is: how could they have prepared with food and water when their homes are washed away? They had plenty of notice and are in an area where severe storms are commonplace. Would burying a stash of food/water work when so much soil is washed away?
Of course many were so poor, they wouldn’t have any extra money to stash food/water.

MMMMMH. The security forces are still at work? They didn’t quit and go home to their families? They didn’t steal the food themselves and then go home?
How long will the security forces continue to do their job and act in a legal fashion?
