Man, are you guys out of touch.

I’ve got an 11 year old boy that plays football, hockey and wrestles. Every one of his teams has or has had girls on them.

No standout girls in football but one of the leading scorers on his hockey team is a girl. There are four girls on his team of 16.

In wrestling, there are three girls on the squad. Two are not good at all but have continued to wrestle for three years. A new girl on the squad last year won the City Tournament and went to State. She’s only 10 but won several matches at State.

She’ll probably win State this year as she has gone to every clinic and camp the parents could send her to.

The only problem they’ve encountered has been a-hole dads that say unbelievably terrible things to them at matches.

Having girls compete with boys is part of the social problems we are having now. This is one of the worst things we have done up to our children up to this point.

Girls should compete with girls and boys should only compete with boys.

THANK YOU!!! Been there. Done that. We have a couple who qualified for Boarderwars Nationals and one who is a state champ. We have one who is at UofM on a full ride. She has wrestled all her life.

Wait until they’re 16.

First total domination 13-1 match ending with the male wrestler sporting the Abominable Woody, and it will be lawsuits by the singlet-ful.

Wait until someone accuses him of ‘grinding it in’ late in the match.

It’s a stupid idea - plain and simple.

Just have boys and girls wrestling, and leave it at that.

I've coached hockey for years (travel and house leagues). When I coached Peewee, we had several girls who played on the team. They were decent players. By the time the kids were in Midget, not a single girl was left.

If you honestly think you can compare the abilities of 10 year-olds (where girls mature slightly faster) and teenagers (after boys have hit puberty), you are delusional to the point of ridiculousness. High-school-aged girls are inferior at EVERY sport they would compete against boys in. Even the best girl player would struggle to compete against the mediocre high school age boys. You are letting your ideology blind you to reality.

She will learn reality when the testosterone hits the boys.

I pulled my son out of wrestling when they started this crap. There are two types of girls who go for these sports: those who are decidedly not feminine, and those whose parents wanted a boy, but were too selfish to continue having children.

There are no good reasons why girls and boys should be allowed to play contact sports together and many reasons they shouldn’t. It’s just another battle in the war against boys. Guess we know whose side you are on.
