Full Title: Policy keeping girls off boys' wrestling team prevents 'undesired contact of sensual body parts,' says Line Mountain High School
WILLIAMSPORT The prospect of co-ed wrestling presents dilemmas, such as how an adult male coach demonstrates techniques on a middle school-aged female, the Line Mountain School District claims.
That is one of the arguments the Northumberland County school district makes in urging U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann not to make permanent the order he issued Oct. 31 that allowed a seventh-grade girl identified only as A.B. to sign up for the middle school wrestling team.
The district has a policy that prohibits boy and girls from being on the same team in a contact sport.
Due to the continual close contact involved in wrestling, the sport warrants a separation between male and females, especially when the individuals reach the age of puberty, the district states in a brief filed with the court.

Hey, make it “fair” - let the boys wrestle on the girls wrestling team. We’ll see if the tune changes then.

We went through this already...YEARS AGO!!

Even if they let the girl wrestle guys a couple weight classes down from her, I dont think that would be a big concern.
In 7th-8th grade, you might be surprised. I wrestled for 13 years and saw a couple girls that won their fair share of matches. I never had to wrestle one myself, but I knew a couple that we'd run into at open tournaments throughout the year.
That said, I don't remember hearing about either of those girls continuing on in high school.

Brian and Angie Beattie are trolling for a way to make some money suing the school district.
They sue if the rule stands and the daughter cant wrestle with the boys.
They sue if she wrestls and a boy accidentally touches her.
They sue if she get injured.
They sue if she feels discriminated against.
They sue if the boys are too big, too strong or too male.
The sue if the temperature is too high, too low, just right.Your logic is spot on!
You DO get the gist of all this, don't you. SUE.
There are undoubtedly PLENTY of lawyers lined up for this AGAIN. We went through this already DECADES ago!
The daughter is a moron. But, she is the fruit of her parents: two morons breeding = SUPERmoron!!! Quick, get her a cape!!

Man, are you guys out of touch.
I’ve got an 11 year old boy that plays football, hockey and wrestles. Every one of his teams has or has had girls on them.
No standout girls in football but one of the leading scorers on his hockey team is a girl. There are four girls on his team of 16.
In wrestling, there are three girls on the squad. Two are not good at all but have continued to wrestle for three years. A new girl on the squad last year won the City Tournament and went to State. She’s only 10 but won several matches at State.
She’ll probably win State this year as she has gone to every clinic and camp the parents could send her to.
The only problem they’ve encountered has been a-hole dads that say unbelievably terrible things to them at matches.

But they can still use each other's bathrooms if they self-identify as the other sex?

but myself personally wouldn't want to compete and have to touch anybody in those regions.
At that age, if I had the opportunity to rassle women and touch their parts, I'd join the rasslin team in a heartbeat.........

Having girls compete with boys is part of the social problems we are having now. This is one of the worst things we have done up to our children up to this point.
Girls should compete with girls and boys should only compete with boys.

That's what I was thinking. If the kids are finding anything about wrestling "sensual" then they're not doing it right.
I agree. For the most part, the focus and dedication that most wrestlers exude would lean more towards them being "all business" when it came to a match.
I'm not saying this would occur 100% of the time, but other than worrying about getting your butt kicked by a girl, I think both kids would tend to focus on the match at hand.
I grew up wrestling in Northeast Ohio. Wrestling is huge here. It may be a little less focused in other states, but in Ohio, kids who want to wrestle are a very special breed.

On the farm my younger sister by 2 years challenged me to a wrestling match when I was 17- She beat the crap out of me and I had to buy her things til she was 18 so she wouldn`t blab it all over.
