Let the blame game begin over ObamaCares oversights.
The nations largest health insurer, UnitedHealthcare, claims the Affordable Care Act is responsible for forcing it to boot doctors from its Medicare Advantage program that serves thousands of elderly patients in the New York metro region.
CEO Jack Larsen, under fire for separating seniors from their MDs, took out full-page ads to explain that cuts in Medicare spending forced the insurers hand.

It will be much worse next year and effect every state. The news will be in Oct 15, 2014 plenty of time to tell seniors.
Let’s all play... Find The Republican!
I think if the Healthcare dot Gov website wasn’t such a mess, we would have a constant drumbeat from the liberals and MSM that it is insurance companies that are dropping plans and forcing you to lose your doctor.
This would setup the demand for more gov’t involvement and a government plan beyond Medicaid.
(2) Blame the evil insurance companies for jacking up prices and cancelling policies
(3) Blame Republicans for being in bed with said companies
(4) Astro-turf LIVs to support single-payer
(5) GOPe caves
(6) Single Payer! Unicorns and Skittles!
Jack Larson is going to be audited and his secrets revealed to the media
I believe that is BILLION.
But no one was listening.
Liberals: the “cutworms” of politics and society.
I remember that as well. When 3 million fewer people voted for Romney than had voted for McCain it was clear that all the bitching about Republicans is just hot air. People who actually give a damn knew that Romney or anyone else was better than four more years of King Barry.
It's obvious the whining about Republicans is just how some folks entertain themselves or help the democrat fascists keep the bleating crowd demoralized and on the sidelines.
And, a lot of doctors are dumping Medicare.
I believe you are right, Thanks.
Every Advantage plan by any insurance company is either going totally away or the price is way up.
I have a regular Medicare supplement plan with UnitedHealthcare through AARP. It was the cheapest price for my age for a regular supplement plan. The price with other policies go up as you age and this one didn’t because it was connected to AARP. I have a life insurance policy with a company through AARP and a cash insurance policy through a company with them if I have day surgery or are in a hospital and I have a long term care policy with a company through them.
All these policies were cheaper with these established insurance companies through AARP. I don’t care what AARP says about anything, I just get better prices there for policies I want.
Lot of churn. When Obama made the deal with the insurers, he gave them the right to yank the rug from under millions of their customers.
Many FReepers were warning of this very thing years ago. Oh. You’ll be covered. Good luck finding a doctor that will take you, but you’ll be insured. What a joke, except it’s really not funny at all.
I guess this is the *payback* AARP gets for selling 0's *keep your insurance* and *affordable healthcare* lies.
You're the first person I've heard defending AARP. Our family members (Seniors) are all livid with them for being in on 0's lies. They feel the group that's supposed to be helping Seniors, has helped to usher in death panels/ rationed healthcare for Seniors.
To get medical supplement from AARP you must be a member. My wife’s Plan F from Blue Cross is pretty cheap.
“You’re the first person I’ve heard defending AARP.”
I don’t defend them - I just don’t care what they say. I toss their material in the trash. I get the policies I need/want cheaper there so that’s where I get them.
I have known for a long time that Advantage Plans had to be going away no matter which insurance company it was, and I didn’t have one. I wanted to be able to choose my own doctors so I got a regular supplement plan, not an Advantage Plan from the beginning.
