"................................Citing results that show attitudes among white people toward guns appear to be influenced by illogical racial biases, the studys authors suggest that gun-control policies might need to be implemented independent of public opinion.

I don’t recommend FReepers wasting too much time on this. But that this study was even considered, funded, executed, peer-reviewed and published is the issue.
Basically, a Brit and an Austrailian (both liberals for sure) set out to study racism in American white gun owners. They were asked a bunch of questions about black people. Then asked if they owned guns.
Guess what they concluded. Whites that are racist are also gun owners and 2A advocates. But wait, they also seem to say the reverse based on their results.... Gun owners in America are racists.
I would say the “study” is a tiny weeny bit flawed on its face. Worse, I’d like to see the questions they asked. I’d also like them to publish who funded this and who the “peer reviewers” were.
Don’t let that happen, my FRiend, let it turn to something else: head for the range & practice your double tap.
“symbolic racism”
Isn’t that interesting - they’ll pick anything, it’s all “racism.”
Some college bound ethnic studies doctoral yute might get hurt.
Liberals are more likely to come to completely wrong conclusions and not understand anything.
gun-control policies might need to be implemented independent of public opinion....in other words government can collect your guns! PUCK YOU! Liberal whackos want the government to collect our guns and NO HELL NO to you!
Anyone who is aware of the rate of black-on-white crime is a racist. Such people must be disarmed, regardless of public opposition, in the interests of protecting Democrat voters.
And blacks can’t be racists...right?
It’s gotten to the point where even questioning whether the “earf” is getting warmer or cooler implies you hate black people.
I think that’s a given by definition.
“Playing the race card for gun control. LOL!”
They have been doing that for years.
In most cases they use the lefts racist beliefs that blacks can’t be trusted with guns because they will kill whites.
The anti death penalty crowd is big into this with their opposition to the death penalty for “celebrity murders” that just happen to be black and just happen to have murdered whites.
Whites that get the death penalty seldom if ever get elevated to “celebrity” status with the anti death penalty crowd because they can’t use it for their racist anti gun agenda.
I bought a Browning Hi-Power back in 1968 while living in a bad area during the riots. After hearing what happened to to others living in worse areas I wanted 13 shots and not 6.
The more racist a person's beliefs the more likely he is to wear a sheet. White sheet owners more likely to be racist.
Well, that (ownership of firearms) applies to nearly all “white” folks, then. But it applies to nearly everyone of other races, too. So does racism. What counts are civility and good manners. Avoid angering others or spreading fears. Learned that in the fifties and early sixties. Some folks are afraid of others owning firearms, though. They’re afraid that the lowly, un-politically-correct rabble is going to attack them to take their stuff (equal opportunity fear in pampered folks of all races). See the greasy, hard working man with the muscles. See his kids, who’ll grow up like him. Scary, huh—this overpopulation thing.
After 8 years of Obama, whites are now more likely to be racists.
Great; universities in Australia and Britain, steeped deeper in liberalism than US universities (if that’s possible).
They wonder why people go postal.
I challenge Mr. O’brien to spend some time walking around alone, unarmed, well dressed, and at night in the West Chicago/ Livernois Ave area of Detroit, Michigan. Then, after a few months of this, he can compile another report on American negative perceptions of blacks...provided he’s still alive and able to do do so of course. That’s a scientific study I would pay good money to see.
