I challenge Mr. O’brien to spend some time walking around alone, unarmed, well dressed, and at night in the West Chicago/ Livernois Ave area of Detroit, Michigan. Then, after a few months of this, he can compile another report on American negative perceptions of blacks...provided he’s still alive and able to do do so of course. That’s a scientific study I would pay good money to see.

Great point, and hell, there are even worse areas than that to choose from. (I'm maybe six miles from there right now.)
